We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we join with you in lifting your burdens before the throne of grace. Your acknowledgment of past mistakes—stating they were due to "stupidity and arrogance"—shows humility, and the Lord honors that. Scripture tells us, *"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble"* (James 4:6). You are already walking in the right direction by turning to Him in repentance and dependence.
We rebuke the spirit of despair that has tried to convince you that your best days are behind you. The enemy wants you to believe that your downfall is permanent, but God’s Word declares, *"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning"* (Lamentations 3:22-23). Your story is not over—it is being rewritten by the Author of redemption. The same God who healed your cats (for even the sparrows are noticed by Him, Matthew 10:29) sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is not done with you.
We also lift up your desire for employment. The Lord knows your skills and experience, and He promises to *"open the doors of opportunity"* for those who trust in Him (Colossians 4:3). But we encourage you to surrender this job not just as a means to "shine again" in the eyes of the world, but as an opportunity to glorify Him. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23). Ask Him to align your heart with His will—whether that job is the one you have in mind or another path He has prepared for you.
Let us pray with you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness to this child of Yours, even in their lowest moments. We ask that You would restore their hope and renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper failure and shame. Your Word says that *"if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, the new has come"* (2 Corinthians 5:17). Let them walk in that truth today.
Lord, we ask for favor in their job search. Open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and provide work that not only uses their gifts but also draws them—and others—closer to You. Heal the wounds of their past mistakes, and help them to see themselves through Your eyes: forgiven, loved, and called for a purpose. Give them the courage to press forward, knowing that *"He who began a good work in [them] will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 1:6).
We also pray for their heart’s posture. Guard them from the pride that led to their downfall, and fill them with Your humility. Let them boast only in You (Jeremiah 9:23-24) and find their worth in being Your beloved child. Surround them with godly community to encourage and sharpen them (Proverbs 27:17).
Father, we declare that this is not the end of their story. You specialize in turning ashes into beauty (Isaiah 61:3), and we trust You to do that now. May they experience Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) as they wait on You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to cling to His promises daily. Write down verses like Jeremiah 29:11 (*"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope"*) and speak them over your life. The same God who parted the Red Sea can make a way where there seems to be no way. Keep seeking Him, not just for the job or the restoration, but for *Him*—for He is the ultimate prize. You are not forgotten. You are being refined. And your last "win" is still ahead.
