Dear God,

Please help me. 2 months ago, I quit oxycodone successfully with Your help. I remained clean, and honestly, that's all I ever wanted to be. I NEVER wanted to touch the stuff again. But I had to have surgery. I begged and begged my dad to postpone the surgery because I knew what was going to happen, but he said no, it had to be done now. So i thought I just wouldn't take any pain medicine. Of course, the doctor prescribes me oxycodone. I suffer through two days of excruciating pain, intent on avoiding the pills, but on the third day, I couldn't take it anymore. I had a fever from the pain, so I took a pill. Now I'm hooked again, and have been taking them steadily for three weeks. Tomorrow, I run out. I do not intend to get anymore. Please dear God, have mercy on me. I know how painful this will be and I don't want to go through it again. I tried so hard to avoid this I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I HAVE TO DO THIS AGAIN. its not my fault!!!!!! I went through hell to get off these things and now im back at square one because of something that i so desperately tried to avoid! please dear God, show mercy. don't let it be too painful. Amen.

I am so very sorry for what you are going through. I too became addicted to prescription drugs. Was medical malpractice. I put myself through cold turkey withdrawal. I could have died. I should have been weaned off those drugs gradually and under medical supervision. I am praying very hard for you. I know that being in excruciating pain is not the answer. Perhaps you should speak to your doctor about being gradually weaned from the pain killers -- BUT BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY AND HOW YOU SAY IT -- YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE LABELED AS AN "ADDICT" OR GET YOURSELF A REP WHERE WHEN YOU ARE IN SEVERE PAIN, YOU CAN NOT GET PAIN MEDICATION. REALLY -- IF YOU DISCUSS TOPIC OF BEING GRADUALLY WEANED OFF YOUR PAIN PILLS, WATCH WHAY YOU SAY. I am praying very hard for you. I pray God will come to your aid immediately and guide you as to how to handle this situation. I pray in the name of Jesus of Nazareth. Amen and amen.

Find out if you can get into a treatment program ASAP--something to keep you from buying the stuff or getting a refill. I'm assuming you have healed from surgery and no longer it. You need support and accountability to someone. Are you a member of Narcotics Anonymous, and do you have a mentor? I believe you when you say you don't want to go through this again -- take steps today. Does your father know what is going on?
