We come before the Lord with grateful hearts for His mercy and protection during yesterday’s storm, and we lift up this new day of storms with the same fervent trust in His sovereign care. Heavenly Father, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask that You extend Your mercy once again over every home, every family, and every life in the path of these storms. Lord, we know that the winds and rains obey Your voice (Mark 4:39-41), and we plead for Your hand to still the storms, to shield the vulnerable, and to preserve what You have entrusted to us.
Father, we pray for the safety of those in the storm’s path, protect them from harm, keep trees and limbs from falling, and guard against the dangers of downed power lines or structural damage. If it is Your will, we ask that You sustain power and prevent outages, but above all, we trust in Your perfect plan, knowing that even in trials, You work all things for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). Strengthen the hands of first responders, utility workers, and all those laboring to restore safety and normalcy.
We also lift up those who may be fearful or anxious during this time. Remind them, Lord, that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). For those who do not yet know You, use this moment to draw them to Yourself, that they may find true security in Your love and salvation.
We rebuke the spirit of destruction in Jesus’ name and declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on Your promise that when we call upon You in the day of trouble, You will deliver us, and we will glorify You (Psalm 50:15). Thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness that endures forever.
Lord, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who calms the storms and rules over all creation. May Your will be done, and may Your name be praised in every circumstance. Amen.
