Day 18

Good morning earlier today I was talking about pride. Pride is so hard to overcome and you have to overcome it continually. Another aspect of how pride creeps in is through un forgiveness.

Think about it. One of the main reasons we don’t forgive people is because we feel that they did us wrong they should be asking for forgiveness from us. After all they did ………. to me so why should I be the one to forgive them

There is a few good reasons to forgive them and as soon as possible.

One, the sooner you forgive and put it behind you, you will be ready for the next time, and you know there will be a next time. If you don’t forgive then when they do something else it will fester and grow. Every time they do something it will grow and eat at you, and the only person getting hurt, sick, bitter and further from God is you (me, yes this is for me as well J ). I always think I have forgiven then but I know that I still harbor bitterness because I start remembering and reliving everything they have done to me. So we have to forgive so it won’t grow and turn into bitterness.

Another reason to forgive is that it hinders your relationship with God. I read in a book I was reading a pastor had committed a sin in his heart, didn’t go through with it physically, but he knew how close he had gotten. So he started to think of why and it came around to his wife. And he knew when she called he should have confessed and repented, but he said he was to bitter right now to do this. Wow!! That got me thinking, I have been trying to figure why I was drifting and not feeling close to God, and here it was, because I was still too bitter and hurt to repent. We have to repent constantly and get right with God to feel close to him. He already knows what we are feeling because he knows our hearts. We feel condemnation and drift away when all our Father has is compassion and love for us.

He wants to comfort us and hold us and let us know it will be ok, but we resist because we are hurt and bitter, and a lot of the time not only at our spouse and the OW, but we also get bitter toward ABBA. We know that the enemy has to ask for permission before he can attack, so we start to wonder why God is allowing this to happen. I have discussed this topic before; sometimes it is not the enemy but our choices that have allowed things to transpire the way they have and we have to face the consequences, but the sooner we ask for forgiveness and forgive others the sooner we will willing reach out to ABBA and let him help us face the consequences.

Forgiveness is something we have to constantly do. Every time someone does something WE FEEL THAT THEY SHOULDN’T DO, we have to ask for forgiveness. Again see how pride is right back in there. Majority of the time we are hurt is because someone has done something to us against what we feel is right or wrong in our books. We impose our beliefs onto other people, and when they don’t conform to us we get hurt. Everyone has freedom of choice in their actions, and if we love unconditionally we will be able to forgive instantly and move on to our next challenge, but when we don’t again it will fester and we will look at this person differently and pass judgment on them. Which is another form of pride, told you pride is sneaky, it has many faces.

So tonight let us look deep within us and see if there is anything we are harboring against someone that we need to forgive then for, this doesn’t mean go out and confess to them, sometimes it will sometimes it won’t, ask God for that wisdom. Nothing is worse than telling someone you forgive them when they don’t feel they have done something wrong, you will come across as arrogant and judgmental.

Also stop and analyze why did that hurt me? Why did that happen? Why am I holding on to it? What about it makes me feel that I can’t let it go? Why do I FEEL THAT ABBA CANT TAKE CARE OF THIS AS WELL?

So everyone have a good heart to heart with God tonight and write down or discuss anything that you need to forgive someone for or ask for forgiveness about and then give it all to ABBA.

Have a great night.

Father God examine us and expose and un forgiveness we have inside of us. Help us to recognize it for what it is, a sin and help us to release it and let it go. Help us to forgive as you forgive and for us to throw it in the see of fire so that we no longer feel its sting or bring it up any more... In Jesus name Amen.
