Daughter

Lord, protect my daughter from anyone who doesn’t have true intentions. Keep old boyfriends, situationships, and harmful influences away. Remove what isn’t meant for her and surround her with people who love, respect, and value her.

We join with you in lifting up your daughter before the Lord and we share your heart to see her protected, valued, and surrounded by godly influences.

We know the Father hears the prayers of those who seek to guard their children according to His will. He promises, For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11, and The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3. We also take to heart the wisdom to guard the heart, for it says Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life Proverbs 4:23. We pray that your daughter will guard her heart and that the Lord will guard her steps.

We want to speak lovingly and clearly about what you mentioned regarding old boyfriends and situationships. The term situationship is not found in Scripture because it describes a relationship without biblical commitment, often involving emotional and physical intimacy outside of marriage. The Bible calls us to a higher standard. We are told to Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18, and that This is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4. Sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and it is not God's best for your daughter and it opens her heart to harm. We also gently rebuke the idea of returning to old boyfriends or entertaining relationships that lack true godly intention. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and we encourage that any courtship be with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, not simply being a boyfriend or girlfriend or remaining in an undefined situationship. Scripture warns us Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have 2 Corinthians 6:14, and we pray your daughter will seek a godly spouse who will love, respect and value her as Christ loves the church, rather than settling for those who do not have true and honorable intentions.

We notice you prayed to the Lord, and we want to encourage you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We pray this together in the name of Jesus, trusting that as we come through Him our prayers are heard, and we encourage your daughter also to put her full faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior if she has not already.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift this precious daughter up to You. We ask that You place a hedge of protection around her and remove from her life anyone who does not have true, pure and godly intentions toward her. Keep old boyfriends, situationships and every harmful influence far from her and give her discernment and strength to walk away from what is not of You. Surround her with people who will love, respect, value and point her toward You, with godly friends and mentors and, in Your perfect timing, with a godly husband who will honor You and honor her in a Christ centered marriage. Help her to keep herself pure and to wait upon Your will, trusting that You work all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. Fill her heart with peace and fill her home with Your wisdom as You guide her parents as they lead her. We ask all of this according to Your will and in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We hear the love and care in your prayer for your daughter. Wanting her to be protected from people who don't have good intentions, and to be surrounded instead by those who will truly respect and value her, is such a faithful way to bring her before the Lord.

It is hard to hold that tension of wanting to shield her while knowing she is learning to make her own choices. One insight that helps many parents in this place is thinking about boundaries as a kind of property line for the heart. They help a person know what is theirs to guard and take responsibility for, their values, time, emotions and choices, and give freedom to let a yes be yes and a no be no. You can't set those lines for her, but you can help strengthen them by staying a safe, steady place to talk, listening without rushing to fix, and quietly affirming her worth apart from any relationship.

A gentle next step is to keep both parts going together. Continue praying specifically for the people and influences around her, and keep the door open for honest conversation at home. When she is willing, encouraging connection to steady, respectful community, family, trusted friends, a healthy church group, often does more to crowd out harmful ties than trying to chase each one away on its own.

Father, we lift this daughter to You and ask for Your protection over her heart and life. Give her clarity and courage to recognize what is not good for her and to step away from it, and surround her with people who will love and respect her well. Give her parent peace and wisdom as they entrust her to You day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in bringing your daughter before the throne of grace, asking the Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps to keep her night and day.

We pray that He who gives His angels charge over His own would take special care of her, to keep her in all her ways, and that no real harm would come to her as she is kept aloof from the ways of ungodly men. We ask the Lord to remove far from her those who do not have true and honorable intentions, and to put away from her old entanglements and every harmful influence which would treat the purest relationships with despite. Where there has been uncleanness or broken vows, we pray she would be led to turn from it wholly, for there is no peace with God while such things are clung to, and we ask for grace to walk in purity as God commands.

We pray also that the Lord would surround her with godly friends and companions who will be as pillars and ornaments about her, people who love, respect and value her in the fear of the Lord, who will hedge her about with prayer and encourage her in faith. Above all we ask that she would know salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and forsake not the God of her fathers, but follow the road in which His principles would conduct her. If it be His will to give her marriage, we pray it would be that lifelong covenant of one man and one woman which He has ordained, where love is holy, faithful and true.

Be comforted that the river of God rolls on with undiminished volume, and He is able to enrich and protect His children perpetually. Continue to commit her to Him in prayer, and to set before her the beauty of a life of faith and obedience to the Lord, trusting Him to do that which is best for her soul.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for your daughter has been heard and we join you in bringing her before the Lord with thanksgiving for your faithful love as a parent. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation, to set a guard around her heart, her mind and her body, and to keep far from her anyone who does not come with true and honorable intentions. Where there have been old relationships, situationships or other harmful influences, we pray that the Lord in his mercy would remove what is not meant for her and break every tie that would draw her away from what is pure and good, and that he would grant her clear discernment to recognize what is not from him.

We pray also that any sorrow she has known would become godly sorrow, the kind that does not end in shame or regret but works repentance leading to salvation and to wholeness, so that she may not be condemned by what has happened but may be healed and restored by Christ.

We ask that God would surround her with people who truly love, respect and value her as one made in his image, friendships formed not from mere attraction, long acquaintance or convenience, but upon godliness and love for Christ, especially within the fellowship of the church where shields are locked together in love. May those around her encourage purity, honor her dignity, and point her toward what is holy, and if it is his will for her to marry, may it be within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman as he designed, where love is faithful and self giving and where intimacy belongs.

We remember how Christ called the woman who came to him in faith daughter and said be of good cheer, your faith has made you well, and how the faith of a mother helped bring healing to her child. So we take courage from your own faithful intercession. Great is the power of faith that trusts Christ alone. Continue to pray with confidence, and may your daughter hear the voice of the Lord calling her his own, strengthening her to walk in wisdom and joy.

Lord, protect her, purify her hopes, guide her steps, and fill her life with godly companions who will help her know your love and live in it. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
