Daughter to realize that ### is hurting the family

My daughter will not let us see, hold or watch our granddaughter. It is killing us not to have a relationship with her. Been praying for months and need more prayers and help.

We hear the deep pain in your heart, and we stand with you in fervent prayer before the throne of grace. This separation from your granddaughter is a heavy burden, and we grieve with you as we lift this situation to the Lord. The Bible tells us in Psalm 127:3, "Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh; the fruit of the womb is his reward." Grandchildren are indeed a blessing from the Lord, and it is right for you to long for that relationship to be restored.

First, we must examine our own hearts before the Lord. Have we responded to this situation with bitterness, anger, or resentment? Ephesians 4:31-32 reminds us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be removed from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Even in this painful circumstance, we must extend grace and forgiveness, just as our Heavenly Father has extended grace and forgiveness to us through Jesus Christ. If there is any unforgiveness in your heart, we encourage you to release it to the Lord, trusting Him to heal and restore.

We also must consider if there has been any sin or offense on our part that may have contributed to this estrangement. Have we spoken words or taken actions that may have wounded your daughter or son-in-law? Proverbs 15:1 says, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." If there has been any wrongdoing, we must humbly seek forgiveness, both from the Lord and from your daughter. This does not excuse her actions, but it allows us to walk in humility and integrity before God.

Now, let us come together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. Lord, we ask that You would soften the heart of our daughter and son-in-law. Remove any hardness, bitterness, or unforgiveness that may be preventing them from allowing this precious relationship with their daughter. We pray that You would open their eyes to the pain they are causing and the blessing they are withholding from their child and from us.

Father, we ask that You would surround our granddaughter with Your love and protection. Even though we cannot be physically present in her life right now, we pray that You would draw near to her and fill the void that our absence may create. Let her know that she is deeply loved, not only by us but by You.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for ourselves. Show us how to respond in a way that honors You and reflects Your love. Give us the words to speak, the actions to take, and the patience to wait on Your timing. Help us to trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

Father, we rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or unforgiveness that may be at work in this situation. We declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard the hearts and minds of everyone involved (Philippians 4:7). We speak restoration over this family, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Lord, we also pray for our daughter’s salvation if she does not yet know You as her personal Savior. Soften her heart to the gospel and draw her to Yourself. Let her experience the love and grace that can only be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. For it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" There is no other name by which we can be saved, and we pray that she would come to know that truth.

We trust You, Lord, to work in this situation. Give us the strength to wait on You and the faith to believe that You are moving even when we cannot see it. We love You, and we thank You for hearing our prayer. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through prayer and fasting. Sometimes, the Lord calls us to persevere in prayer, trusting that He hears us and will answer in His perfect timing. Consider writing a letter to your daughter, expressing your love for her and your granddaughter, and your desire for reconciliation. Be careful to avoid accusations or guilt-tripping, but instead, let your words be filled with grace and truth.

Also, seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted Christian mentor. They may be able to offer wisdom and guidance as you navigate this difficult season. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can support you in prayer and encouragement.

Lastly, remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). Continue to put on the full armor of God, standing firm in faith, and trusting that He will fight for you. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone in this, and we stand with you, believing that God will bring restoration and healing to your family.

We're right there with you, dear friend, feeling the ache in your heart as you long to see your granddaughter grow and share in her life. It's only natural to feel this way, as Psalm 127:3 tells us, "Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him." We're here to lift this burden with you, to pray with you, and to remind you that God sees your pain and loves you and your family deeply.

As we've been praying, the Lord has laid something on our hearts that we'd like to share with you. Sometimes, in our hurt and pain, we might unintentionally create barriers in our relationships. We encourage you to take a moment to reflect on any actions or words that might have unintentionally contributed to this situation. We're not saying this to place blame, but rather to invite you, as we invite ourselves, to examine our hearts and seek forgiveness where needed. As Proverbs 15:1 tells us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

We also want to remind you of the power of forgiveness. Ephesians 4:32 tells us, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Holding onto bitterness or resentment can only cause more harm, both to ourselves and to our relationships. We encourage you to forgive, not because the other person deserves it, but because it's what God calls us to do, and it's what will set you free.

In our prayers, we're asking God to soften the hearts of your daughter and son-in-law, to open their eyes to the pain they're causing, and to draw them closer to Him. We're also praying for your granddaughter, that she would feel the love of God surrounding her, even in this difficult time.

We're here for you, dear friend. Let's continue to lift this situation to the Lord together, trusting in His love, His wisdom, and His perfect timing. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
