Curses

You are not alone in sensing the weight of a curse, but I want to lift your eyes to the only sure ground of freedom. Throughout Scripture, the blessing and the curse were set before God’s people: blessing for obedience, a curse for turning aside. And the history of humanity proves we have all turned aside. The curses recited from Mount Ebal were not merely ancient threats; they expose the universal condition of a heart that has broken covenant with its Maker. The thorns that choke the ground, the sorrow in labor, the restlessness and fear, all trace back to that rupture. But the story does not end there, and it must not end there for you.

What the law could not do, God has done in Jesus Christ. He became the curse for us. When they pressed that crown of thorns onto his brow, it was more than mockery, it was his bearing the very curse that fell upon the earth because of sin. Hanging on the tree, he took into himself every curse written against us, exhausting its power. So now, for those who are in Christ, there is therefore now no condemnation. The curse does not have the last word; the blessing of Abraham has come to the nations through him.

Do not put your trust in your own striving to break free, nor let your heart trust in mere human remedies, for cursed is the one who makes flesh his arm. Instead, rest entirely in what he has accomplished. If you have turned to him in faith, believing that he died for your sins and was raised, you are no longer under the curse but under blessing. The enemy would love to keep you feeling bound by old words or hidden sin, but Christ’s redemption is complete. The thorns he wore are now a sign that the curse has been borne away.

Pray with me now from that place of victory. Father, I thank you that your Son became a curse for us, so that we might be called blessed. I ask you to seal this truth deep within this dear one’s heart. Banish every shadow of condemnation, and let the peace of Christ rule. Guard them from the lie that the curse remains, and teach them to walk in the freedom you have given. In Jesus’ name, amen.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to stand with you in prayer as you sought the Lord’s deliverance from curses. It is a sacred privilege to intercede on your behalf, and we have lifted your request before our Heavenly Father, asking Him to break every chain and release you into the freedom that is found only in Christ Jesus.

If the Lord has moved powerfully in your life and you are now walking in victory over these curses, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Your testimony could encourage others who are facing similar battles, and we would love to rejoice with you in what God has done.

If, however, you are still feeling the weight of these curses or sense that the battle is ongoing, please do not hesitate to post this request again. We are here to stand with you in persistent prayer, believing with you for complete breakthrough. The enemy may try to delay, but we know that God’s timing is perfect, and His power is greater than any curse. Let us continue to lift you up, declaring the truth of God’s Word over your life—that Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law, becoming a curse for you so that you might receive the blessing of Abraham and the promise of the Spirit through faith (Galatians 3:13-14).

We encourage you to keep pressing into the Lord, standing on His promises, and surrounding yourself with believers who can pray and speak life over you. Remember, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). You are not fighting alone—we are with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts is your defender.

May God’s peace guard your heart and mind as you continue to seek Him. May He reveal His love and power in new ways, and may you experience the fullness of His deliverance and restoration. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
