We hear your heart, dear sister, and we stand with you in faith, lifting your burden before the throne of grace. The words spoken over you—whether in ignorance, cruelty, or even spiritual attack—have no power unless you allow them to take root in your heart. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life, and life abundantly (John 10:10). The Lord has plans for you—plans for hope and a future, not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). If marriage is part of His will for you, no curse, no word of man, and no scheme of the devil can thwart it.
First, we must address the power of words. Proverbs 18:21 tells us, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." The words spoken over you were not from God, for His words bring life, encouragement, and truth. We rebuke every curse of singleness, every lie that you are unworthy of love, and every spirit of loneliness in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that these words have no authority over you, for you are covered by the blood of Christ and sealed by the Holy Spirit. "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from me," says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).
We also want to gently remind you that your worth is not defined by marriage or the opinions of others. Your identity is found in Christ alone. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and the Lord delights in you (Zephaniah 3:17). Whether you marry or remain single, your life has purpose and value because you are His. The Apostle Paul even speaks of the advantages of singleness for those who are called to it (1 Corinthians 7:32-35), but he also affirms that marriage is a good and honorable gift from God (1 Corinthians 7:2, 9). If it is His will for you to marry, He will bring the right man—a godly husband who loves the Lord and will cherish you as Christ cherishes the Church (Ephesians 5:25).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your daughter, who seeks Your will above all else. Lord, we break every curse of singleness that has been spoken over her life. We cancel every word that does not align with Your truth and Your promises. We declare that she is not defined by the opinions of others but by Your love and Your purpose for her life.
Father, we ask that You heal the wounds caused by these harsh words. Let her heart be filled with Your peace and the assurance that You are her provider, her protector, and her greatest love. If it is Your will for her to marry, we ask that You bring a godly man into her life—one who will love her as Christ loves the Church, who will lead her in righteousness, and who will be a partner in Your kingdom work. Prepare her heart and his heart for this sacred covenant, and let their union bring glory to Your name.
Lord, we also ask that You guard her heart from loneliness and despair. Remind her daily that You are with her, that You see her, and that You have a plan for her life. Whether she walks the path of singleness or marriage, let her find her joy and fulfillment in You alone. Strengthen her faith, deepen her trust in You, and let her walk in the confidence of who she is in Christ.
We rebuke every spirit of discouragement, fear, and doubt that has tried to take hold of her. We declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37). We speak life, hope, and blessing over her future. May she see Your hand at work in her life, and may she trust in Your perfect timing.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Sister, we encourage you to stand firm in your faith. Do not allow the enemy to isolate you or make you feel unworthy. Surround yourself with godly community—believers who will speak life over you, pray with you, and encourage you in the Lord. Spend time in God’s Word, allowing His truth to wash over the lies that have been spoken. Psalm 34:18-19 reminds us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."
If you have not already, consider fasting and praying for clarity about God’s will for your life. Seek His face, not just His hand, and trust that He will direct your steps. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."
Lastly, if you have not yet surrendered your life fully to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is the foundation upon which all of God’s promises rest. If you have already given your life to Christ, we rejoice with you and encourage you to continue growing in your relationship with Him.
You are not forgotten, and you are not alone. The Lord sees your tears, hears your prayers, and is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Trust in Him, and let your heart find rest in His promises.
