Cursed

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this. It sounds like a very challenging situation. Sometimes, when we pray, it can feel like things get worse before they get better. This can be confusing and distressing. Here are a few thoughts that might help:

1. **Trust in Timing**: Sometimes, prayers are answered in ways we don't expect or in a timing that's beyond our understanding. Trusting in God's timing can be difficult, but it's an important part of faith.

2. **Seek Guidance**: Consider talking to a spiritual leader or counselor who can provide guidance and support. They might offer insights or perspectives that could help you understand what's happening.

3. **Reflect on Intentions**: Reflect on the intentions behind your prayers. Are there any underlying fears or expectations that might be influencing how you perceive the outcomes?

4. **Pray for Understanding**: Sometimes, praying for wisdom and understanding can help us see things from a different perspective. It might help to ask God to help you understand His plan and timing.

5. **Community Support**: Sharing your experiences with a supportive community can be comforting. Others might have gone through similar experiences and can offer support and advice.

Remember, you're not alone in feeling this way, and seeking help is a positive step.

I will be praying for all who have written in. I have gone through the same situation so my comments are from personal experience. I'm actually writing a book right now as I wrote during my trials and doubts. Actually, just thought of this-write a letter to God about how you feel (not why I wrote in maybe the Lord put that in my heart right now). Everything I say, Soli Deo Gloria, Glory to God alone. There are two reasons this MAY seem to be why things unwind when you pray and do not unwind when you don't pray, but first let me say, God is very real, He does love you, and He will not leave you. Now, that being said (as I cry typing that), is when you pray, you need to ask God to show you where HE is at work and how you can join HIM. He knows you're hurting, but you need to seek Him, not "God come help me", but "God show me where you are and what I am learning during this". You may not get an answer right away (or you might). The important thing is to keep praying-even as things seem to unwind. Here's why: God wants to have a relationship with you and seeks to see you act in perseverance and obedience. Obedience pleases Him as much as acknowledging His son, Jesus "in Jesus' name we pray". HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART- when you pray and things seem to unwind-Thank Him! Yes, thank Him. The trials you are going through are because He loves you and is making you into the image of His son. We go through trials to be ready to face Him one day. Do you know why things unwind when you pray? That is exactly what Satan is doing!!!!!! When you pray, read the Bible, and get closer to God, He is preparing to answer your requests as you ask in obedience to Him. Satan knows God will bless you so he will do EXACTLY WHAT YOU SAID-Satan will jump in, distract you, try to scramble everything and steal your joy "the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy". Trust me, he did this to me. What do you do? Confess to God and get closer to Him. Rebuke Satan and don't let him get to you. It is so hard oh, I wish I could tell you it's easy. It's not! But it gets better as long as you persevere and remain obedient.

"Lord Jesus, I pray for all of these people who are facing these difficult times. I have had my feet to the fire and had so many downs in my life as Satan attacks constantly. Lord. Please send your Holy Spirit down to these brothers and sisters facing these trials. Help them remain strong and the light at the end just makes me cry with joy. You are so real and your word is true-you never left me. Times when I felt so down and troubled, you were working my situation the entire time. Please Lord, make the words I type be your words, not mine and as these people come to better times, come closer to our father, Lord, you take all the glory. If I am even honored enough to one day speak your truth to more people and keep them away from Satan, I could not ask for a more honorable place. As always, you get the glory, I'm not worthy of anything more than your forgiveness. Please Lord, my unselfish prayer for these people to persevere and remain obedient to you and the father. Thank you for never giving up on me or on the people reading this today. In Jesus' name I pray"

Amen

This is satan's work. Remember Job and the tests he was put through to test his faith. Also, find something to do for someone else who is less fortunate. It helps one see the blessings in their life with more clarity.

Chrissy, my sweet Sister in Christ, I understand the fears that you have. I remember I went through a period where I went through something similar. This will help you to move past the fear of praying as openly as you should...

First of all, as soon as you open your eyes in the morning, even whilst you're still lying in bed, I want you to pray and ask God for His protection and to keep you safe and to remove any evil or unpleasant spirits that might be hanging around near you or in the house where you are to be removed, and never allowed to come near you again. For the whole day and into the next night and onward.

When you have your worship time, I want you to praise the Lord! Let Him know that you absolutely ADORE Him. Sing Christian songs and hymns that proclaim that God is almighty and that Jesus is Lord. Just tell Him how much you love Him. After that, you can tell Him you're sorry for anything bad that you may have done or thought, and that you want to CONFESS those low times when you weren't living your best live in Christ.

Then you can let Him know that you see and appreciate all of the great things He's done and is continuing to do in your life. Just THANK Him for all of the areas where you've seen real improvement, and those moments of happiness that you've experienced, especially since you've come to know and follow Him.

After that, then begin praying your prayers where you ask God to deal with your situation, to help you with things, to SUPPLY the resources you need, and to help those who are on your heart and mind that need the help of Jesus and His Father.

Remember to pray following A.C.T.S.:

  • Adoration: Give God praise and honor for who he is as Lord over all.

  • Confession: Honestly deal with the sin in your prayer life.

  • Thanksgiving: Verbalize what you're grateful for in your life and in the world around you.

  • Supplication: Pray for the needs of others and yourself.

Chrissy -

I've felt this way before and I know others who have as well. First off I'll tell you that it's only temporary. I've personally felt relief by praying directly to God, but not out loud. I'm not sure why it helps, but it seemed to help me. The other thing I would suggest is that when you pray, remember you are praying to God - someone who loves you more than you have the capability of imagining. I sometimes need to think about how much I love my own children, and remember that God loves us infinitely more than that, as He is true love.

I would respectfully suggest that you might be imagining some/all of this. Sometimes when we expect to feel worse (after praying) you might be imagining that praying is causing it. Again, please forgive me here, but if you ate breakfast in the morning (before praying) and then had a bad day, it wouldn't be all that difficult to surmise that breakfast was causing your bad day, not the prayer. Don't stop praying. It is as necessary for life as eating and sleeping. God will never abandon you, nor will He allow you to carry any burden heavier than you can bear.

In the meantime, your brothers and sisters on this site will pray for you on your behalf. I promise you this is only temporary and you will get through this.
