Disciple of Prayer
Lord, my name is ###. I called ### who help people find employment and housing. I went to ###. There closed on Fridays. ### is supposed to be calling me back this afternoon. If I don't hear from ### by Monday I'm going to ###. I need help getting out of this situation. I'm having a hard time finding a job. My friend ### from my church said hes going to put in a referral for me to go into the ###. Because my wife threw up in my face that shes the primary on the lease and that if she call the police they will take me to jail even if my name is on the lease. I pray that never happen. I dont know which is going to be the best option ###, ### or ###. But I'm also going to talk to my bishop at my church. I don't know which is going to be the best option for me. I ask that you pick the best option for me. Since my wife called security on me last night now im living in fear of her calling the police on me and me going to jail. No weapon formed against me shall prosper! I'm going to talk to the bishop at my church to see about getting help out of this situation. I want to see if any of the church members can help. I ask that you work this out in my favor. In Jesus name amen.

We hear your distress, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your situation before the Lord with heavy hearts. The fear and uncertainty you’re facing, both in your marriage and your living situation, are deeply troubling, and we want you to know that God sees your struggle and cares for you. The Word of God reminds us, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone in this, and we believe God is already at work on your behalf.

First, we must address the seriousness of the conflict in your marriage. The threats, the fear of false accusations, and the breakdown of trust are not part of God’s design for marriage. Scripture is clear: "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord... Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her" (Ephesians 5:22, 25). Marriage is meant to be a covenant of love, respect, and mutual submission before God. When one spouse uses fear, manipulation, or threats, especially involving authorities, it grieves the heart of God. We rebuke in Jesus’ name any spirit of division, strife, or false accusation that has entered your home. "For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing" (James 3:16). We pray for repentance, healing, and restoration in your marriage, but we also recognize that safety, both physical and emotional, must be a priority.

Your wife’s actions, including calling security on you without just cause, are deeply concerning. If she is willing to escalate conflicts in this way, it may be necessary to seek godly counsel, not just from your bishop, but from those who can provide legal and practical guidance as well. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed." We encourage you to follow through with speaking to your bishop, as the church should be a place of refuge and wisdom. Ask if there are resources within the congregation, such as temporary housing, legal advice, or mediation, that can help stabilize your situation. Many churches have ministries or partnerships with organizations that assist in crises like this.

Regarding your housing and employment, we understand the urgency. It is not God’s will for you to live in fear or instability. "For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that the organizations you’ve reached out to, including the one that was supposed to call you back, will respond swiftly and favorably. If they do not, we believe God will open another door. The referral from your friend at church is a blessing, and we pray it leads to a stable job that provides for your needs. In the meantime, do not grow weary in seeking help. "Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary" (Galatians 6:9).

We must also speak plainly about the fear of false accusations. While we declare that "no weapon formed against you shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17), we also recognize that false accusations can have real-world consequences. If your wife is threatening to involve the police in a way that could harm you unjustly, it may be wise to document interactions and seek legal counsel. This is not about retaliation but about protecting yourself from potential harm. Proverbs 22:3 says, "The prudent sees the evil and hides himself, but the naive go on, and are punished for it." We pray for wisdom for you to navigate this with discernment.

Above all, we want to remind you that your hope and security must be rooted in Christ. You ended your prayer "in Jesus’ name," and we are grateful for that, for there is no other name by which we can approach God or find salvation. "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure that your faith is firmly placed in Jesus alone. He is your refuge, your provider, and your defender. "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe" (Proverbs 18:10).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother in Christ. Lord, You see the fear, the uncertainty, and the instability he is facing. We ask that You would be his refuge and strength, a very present help in this time of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, division, or false accusation that has entered his home. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and we ask that You would expose and dismantle any plans of the enemy to harm him (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we pray for his marriage. Soften hearts, bring repentance, and restore what has been broken. If restoration is not possible in this season, we ask that You would provide a way of escape that honors You and protects him (1 Corinthians 10:13). Give him wisdom to know when to seek help, when to speak, and when to act. Surround him with godly counsel, his bishop, his friend at church, and others who can offer wisdom and support.

Father, we ask that You would open doors for employment and housing. Let the organizations he has reached out to respond with favor and urgency. Provide for his needs in ways that only You can, and let him see Your hand at work in his life. Give him patience and perseverance as he waits on You.

Lord, we pray for protection over him, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. If false accusations arise, we ask that You would bring the truth to light and shield him from unjust harm. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Finally, Father, we ask that You would draw him closer to You. Let this trial refine his faith and deepen his trust in You. Remind him that You are his provider, his defender, and his hope. We thank You for hearing our prayer, and we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises and to lean on the support of your church community. This is a difficult season, but it is not without hope. Keep seeking the Lord, keep pursuing godly counsel, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). You are not forgotten, and we believe God has a way forward for you.

It makes complete sense that you're feeling unsettled and walking on eggshells right now. When home stops feeling like a safe place and the threat of legal trouble hangs over everyday life, it's heavy on the spirit. We're glad you're not carrying this alone, you've already reached out to practical resources, you're following up with your church, and you're asking God to guide your steps. That takes courage.

The fact that you're talking to your bishop is a wise move. Sometimes the next right step is just getting in the same room with a trusted spiritual leader who can look you in the eye, hear the whole story, and help you think through the options without the pressure of an immediate crisis. When you meet, it might help to ask specifically: "Are there church members who could offer a temporary place to stay while I sort out employment and housing?" That kind of practical, short-term stability could lower the temperature right away while you pursue the longer-term job and living situation.

One other quiet thought: in high-conflict moments, what the other person says they'll do and what actually happens can be two different things. We're not dismissing your fear, you're right to take it seriously, but try not to let the worst-case scenario play on repeat in your own mind. You're taking action, and that matters.

We ask for you now: Lord Jesus, you see this man, his exhaustion, his fear, the confusion about which path to take. Guard him from harm and from any unjust accusation. Give him a steady mind and clear judgment as he weighs his options. Open the right door for housing and meaningful work, and surround him with trustworthy people from his church who will walk alongside him. Grant him your peace that holds firm even when the ground beneath him shakes. We trust you to lead the way. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Fear is a cruel jailer, and it seems you are now in its dark cell, trembling at the shadow of what man may do. But the fear of man bringeth a snare, and it is a snare that hath tripped many a saint into unbelief. You cry, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper,” and that is the sword of the Spirit, take it up! The promise is sure, but it is given to those whose trust is stayed on Jehovah, not merely on schemes of escape. The Lord will help thee, worm Jacob, though thou feel thyself crushed and helpless. Why shouldst thou fear? The Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, is thy strength.

You have many doors before you, and you seek which option is best. It is right to consider them and to seek counsel of your bishop and brethren. But the Spirit of God is the Spirit of grace and supplication; pour out your heart before the throne. Prayer is the true index of a man’s reliance. He who waits on the Lord in humble dependence shall not be ashamed of his hope. Yet take heed: the heart that is warm with divine love will show itself in a holy walk. Are you, in this trial, examining your own ways? There is a fear which is blessed, the fear of sinning against God, and it drives out the slavish fear of man. Have you that holy dread of grieving your heavenly Father? If not, the lash of mere circumstance will drive you to despair. Flee to Christ, who has quenched the sword of divine justice in His own blood for all who forsake their evil thoughts and turn to Him. In Him there is no condemnation.

Your domestic strife is a bitter cup, and I do not mock your trouble. But mark this: the unequally yoked often find the gall and wormwood of a divided house. I speak not to wound, but to warn. The fear of death, the fear of man, the fear of want, all these are natural to the sinner, but they are not necessary to the saint. Have you truly come to the end of yourself? Has the law shut you up, showing you the spirituality of its demands, that you have nothing in your hand to bring? Only then does the glory of Christ break in, mighty to save to the uttermost. If you are His, then no power of earth or hell can pluck you from His hand, and the rage of men He will restrain. If you are uncertain, oh fly to Him now, for He is set forth as a propitiation for sins, and He casts out none who come.

I charge you, then, to mingle your prayer for deliverance with earnest supplication for the Holy Spirit’s sanctifying work. An unholy heart asks amiss. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and these outward things shall be added. Perhaps this furnace is meant to burn away the dross, to make you know that man doth not live by bread alone. The fear of incarceration is sharp, but the prison of unbelief is darker still. He who is the First and the Last, He that liveth and was dead and is alive forevermore, holds the keys of death and of every circumstance. Lay hold of Him, and though the earth give way, you shall stand fast. Do not merely seek a change of lodging; seek a change of heart where it is lacking, and a renewal of childlike confidence where faith is weak. Then, whatever door opens, you will go through it in peace, for the Lord shall be your shade upon your right hand.

Why let the terror of your wife’s threats overshadow your soul? The Apostle reminds us that Moses, by faith, forsook Egypt not fearing the wrath of the king; he endured as seeing Him who is Invisible. Fix your mind’s eye upon God, remembering Him always, and these present troubles will become endurable, even light. You need not cower before a human word when the Most High is your shelter.

Yet I charge you: work out your own deliverance with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you. Do all things without murmurings and disputings, so that you may be blameless and harmless, a child of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. Do not boast in your own plans, this referral or that shelter, as though any name carries your safety. The Lord alone orders your steps, and He often permits delays so that we learn to trust, not in men, but in His living power.

Go to your bishop, as you have resolved; the church is the spiritual Jerusalem, a refuge where Christ’s body cares for its own. Others before you have had trial of cruel mockings, bonds, and imprisonments, yet the Lord never abandoned them. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, but you must arm yourself with patience and a quiet spirit. If you are to remain blameless, do not return evil for evil, nor let fear drive you to angry words or retaliation. Commend your cause to Him who judges righteously.

While you wait for help with housing and work, do not let your heart be hardened by bitterness or despair. The very hem of Christ’s garment healed the woman who pressed through in faith; how much more will your cry reach Him now? As the disciples learned on the stormy sea, the Lord comes in the fourth watch, when all human hope seems lost, to strengthen and deliver. Stand firm, then, and see the salvation of the Lord. May He guide you to the place He has prepared, give you daily bread through honest labor, and grant you peace that surpasses every threat.

Your situation echoes a very old cry, the kind that rises when everything seems to fall apart at once. Job once sat in the ashes, stripped of security, his home and relationships in ruins, and his closest friends only added to his pain by insisting he must have done something to deserve it. You are not Job, but the fear, the confusion, and the sense of being trapped are the same. You wonder which way to turn, and the options before you all look uncertain. That fear of what your wife might do next is very real, and I hear it. Yet just as God had a hedge around Job that even Satan had to acknowledge, no weapon formed against you can prosper unless the Lord permits it for a purpose you cannot yet see. That does not make the threat less frightening, but it does mean you are not at the mercy of someone's anger.

Your friends might be like Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar, quick to diagnose your trouble as a hidden fault and offer solutions that feel more like accusations. They do not know the whole story, and they cannot see the conversation that takes place in heaven over a person's integrity. God Himself pointed to Job with delight. Your own situation is not proof that you have been cast off or that God is punishing you. Job never learned about that opening scene; he only knew the pain and the silence. Yet he clung to the truth that the Almighty is just, even when he could not understand Him. That is wisdom, to fear the Lord and turn from evil, and from your words, that desire is in your heart.

The desperation you feel to find housing and work, and the dread of being thrown out or accused, can make you speak like Job did: wishing for a daysman, someone who could lay a hand on both you and God and bridge the gap. That mediator has come. Jesus Christ stands between you and every accusation, whether from a human or the accuser of the brethren. He knows your frame, and He is not looking to crush you but to carry you through. So do not let the terror of what might happen tomorrow make you run ahead of Him. You are seeking counsel from your bishop and from your fellow believers; that is right. Let the church be the body that helps bear this burden, not like Job's miserable comforters, but with practical aid and prayer.

As you weigh the options before you, remember that God is not baffled by closed doors or confusing choices. He who watches the sparrow and numbers the hairs on your head has a path through this. Job could not see past the ash heap, yet God restored him. Not every earthly story ends with restoration in the same way, but every child of God is held secure. Keep your heart from bitterness toward your wife, even as you take wise steps to protect yourself from false accusation. You said it yourself: no weapon formed against you shall prosper. That promise stands. Trust the Lord to work this out in your favor, not because you are perfect, but because He is faithful. He sees what is done in secret, and He will bring light to what is hidden. Pray, and then move forward with the calm confidence that your times are in His hands.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to stand with you in prayer during this deeply challenging time. It’s clear that you’re carrying a heavy burden—between the uncertainty of employment, the stress of housing, and the fear in your home situation. We’ve been lifting you up before the Lord, asking Him to guide your steps, calm your heart, and open doors that no one can shut.

If the Lord has already moved in your circumstances—perhaps through that call from ###, the referral from ###, or wisdom from ###—we would love to hear how He has answered so we can rejoice with you. If, however, the weight still feels just as heavy and the path forward remains unclear, we want you to know we’re still here. Please don’t hesitate to post this as a new request so we can continue to intercede for you with fresh faith and persistence.

Above all, we pray that you would feel the nearness of Christ in this storm. May He give you clarity to know which step to take next, courage to walk it out, and peace that surpasses understanding as you trust in Him. We ask the Father to surround you with His protection, provide for every need, and soften hearts—including ###’s—that His will would be done in your home. You are not alone in this, and we believe God is working even when we can’t see it.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
