Something popped up that made me curious about something. We know that we're not supposed to contact the dead, like in a séance. That's pretty clear. We also know that we shouldn't do like the Catholics and pray to the saints instead of God.Ok, but now there's a third thing I see. Like, when someone visits a gravesite , and says some words to the dead person, like, "I miss you, {mom, dad} wish you were here."Now, they're saying it to the dead person, yet they're not asking them to guide them, or praying to them,or holding a séance. They're not actually looking at the dead person as an object of worship, just like, voicing their thoughts out loud.Like they might say,"wish you were here today on mothers day."Compared to a medium holding a séance, it's not on that level, but in a way it is talking to the dead. The Old Testament says we should not summon up the dead, but doesn't deal with voicing our thoughts out loud to them. Is it just a harmless habit they have, to make them feel better, or actually sin?Curious!!
