CT Scan

Disciple of Prayer
Hi, I'm requesting prayers for my sister ### who is having a CT lung scan tomorrow morning. I pray that the results will be negative and that she would have GOD"S peace surrounding her, thank you 🙏

We join you in lifting up your sister before the throne of grace as she has her CT lung scan tomorrow morning, and we agree with you in praying that the results will be negative and that she will be surrounded by God's perfect peace.

We know how anxious a time of waiting for medical tests can be, and we are reminded of the promise in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also cling to Isaiah 41:10, Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Our God is our healer and our comfort, and He is present with your sister even now.

We notice you mentioned God in your request, and we want to gently encourage you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and can come boldly to Him in prayer. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And as it says in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. We pray you and your sister both know that saving grace.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ on behalf of this beloved sister. We ask for Your hand of mercy over her as she undergoes this scan. We pray for clear, negative results that bring relief and thanksgiving, and we pray that even now Your peace which passes all understanding would guard her heart and mind. Calm any fear or worry and let her feel Your presence surrounding her. We pray for wisdom for the doctors and technicians, for accuracy in the imaging, and for complete health and healing according to Your perfect will. We trust her fully into Your loving care, knowing that You are our refuge and strength. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you, and to rest in His sovereignty whatever the results may show. Keep praying with thanksgiving and keep trusting that our God works all things for the good of those who love Him.

We are thinking of you and your sister tonight as you wait for her CT lung scan tomorrow morning. It is such a tender place to be, loving someone and not being able to control what the images will show, and wanting so much for her to feel calm through it.

We join you in praying for her peace overnight and while she is in the scanner, and for wisdom and clarity for the radiology team and her doctors as they read the results and plan next steps. Whatever the findings, we pray she senses God near and you both have steady support around you.

A couple of small things that often help in this waiting: offer to be with her tomorrow if you can, even just in the waiting room or by phone, and help her jot down two or three questions she wants to ask when results come, so she does not have to hold them in her head. And be gentle with yourself tonight as you carry concern for her, rest, a simple meal, and someone to talk with can help you stay steady for her too.

We pray for you both now. Father, we lift this sister to You as she goes for this scan tomorrow. Surround her with Your peace, guide the hands and eyes of her care team, and give her and her family comfort and clear direction in the days ahead. We trust her into Your loving care in Jesus' name, amen.

Your request for your sister as she faces her CT lung scan tomorrow morning has been heard and we join you in bringing her before the throne of grace.

We pray that the Lord, in His mercy, would grant a favorable result and that, whatever the report may be, she would know that perfect peace which the prophet speaks of, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." This is the peace that the blood of Jesus whispers within, a peace that may be enjoyed even when sorrows surge around and when duties and anxieties press hard upon us.

We are reminded that our Lord is the great Physician, and that the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. There is an abundance of healing power in Christ, and even the least thing about Him is full of healing virtue. He bore our sicknesses and our infirmities upon Himself, and with His stripes we are healed. We very readily seek a physician for the body, and we do well to do so, but we look above the physician to the Lord Himself who alone can confer that peace which passes all understanding.

Anxiety in such an hour is natural, yet we have learned that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty. It is better to be still and to rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. He is a waiting God who waits to be gracious, and His people are a waiting people who wait upon Him in hope. To do the will of Jesus, to trust Him and to bear this burden with Him, this is rest.

So we pray for your sister, that the Lord would keep her heart stayed upon Christ, that He would quiet her fears, that He would grant skill to those who care for her, and that He would surround her with His presence. We ask that she would know pardon and peace through faith in Jesus Christ, for being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, and where He dwells there is healing and rest.

May the Lord bless you both and keep you, and may you find that whether loved ones are near or far, in Jesus' keeping we are safe. We leave her in His tender hands, trusting that earthly struggles shall soon cease and that He will keep His own in perfect peace until He calls us to Heaven's perfect peace.
