We hear your cry for spiritual transformation and victory over the flesh, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s power to crucify the sinful nature that wars against the Spirit. The apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 5:24, "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts." This is not a one-time act but a daily surrender, a moment-by-moment choice to die to self and live for Christ.
We recognize that the flesh—our sinful desires, pride, and rebellion—must be put to death so that the life of Jesus may be fully manifested in us. Romans 8:13 declares, "For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live." This battle is real, and it requires vigilance, prayer, and reliance on the Holy Spirit.
Yet we must also emphasize that this crucifixion of the flesh is only possible through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is by His name alone that we have access to the Father, and it is through His blood that we are cleansed from sin. Acts 4:12 reminds us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and receive Him as the only way to eternal life.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. We thank You for the cross, where Your Son bore our sins and broke the power of the flesh. Lord, we ask that You would crucify the flesh in this dear one’s life—every sinful desire, every rebellious thought, every ungodly habit. Let the life of Christ rise up within them as the old nature is put to death.
Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, that they may walk in newness of life. Teach them to deny themselves daily, to take up their cross, and to follow You. Where there is struggle, grant them strength. Where there is temptation, provide a way of escape. Where there is weakness, let Your power be made perfect.
We rebuke every work of the enemy that seeks to keep them bound to the flesh. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loved them. May they experience the freedom, joy, and peace that come from living a life fully surrendered to You.
Father, we also pray for a deeper revelation of Your love and grace. Help them to understand that crucifying the flesh is not about legalism or self-effort, but about abiding in Christ and allowing His life to flow through them. May they grow in intimacy with You, knowing that apart from You, they can do nothing.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear one. The battle is already won in Christ. Keep pressing into Him, renewing your mind with His Word, and walking in the Spirit. Galatians 2:20 says, "I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me." You are not alone in this journey—we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord Himself is your strength.
