At my job, they have hired some new people with which has took away my work and now we are dividing the work among three instead of just me I am praying that God gives these other people other jobs that’s better with better pay with better benefits and they quit

We hear the burden in your request and we understand how difficult it can feel when work that once was yours is now divided among others and you feel a sense of loss or insecurity about your place and provision. We want to bring this before the Lord together with you and also gently examine the heart behind the prayer, so that we pray according to God's will.

We notice your prayer asks God to give your new coworkers better jobs elsewhere so they will quit and you can have the work back. While it is kind to want good things for them, the motive here is rooted in selfish ambition and a desire for their departure for your own gain. Scripture calls us to a different standard of love for our neighbor. Phil 2:3 says do nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself, and Phil 2:4 says each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others. Jas 3:16 warns that where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed. God calls us not to covet what belongs to another or to rejoice in another's loss, but to love our neighbor as ourselves and to trust Him for our own provision.

We also notice your request mentions God but does not mention Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If we have not put our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, our prayers do not reach God as our Father. To be saved we must believe in our hearts that Jesus died for our sins and rose again and confess Him as Lord, Rom 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through His name we pray and are heard.

God is sovereign over your workplace and He sees your diligence and your needs. Col 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. Your value is not measured by how much work you are given but by your faithfulness to Christ in whatever is assigned. Phil 4:11 teaches us not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it, and 1 Tim 6:6 says godliness with contentment is great gain. Matt 6:33 reminds us But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. And Phil 4:19 promises My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Instead of praying for your coworkers to leave, we encourage you to pray for God's will for all of you, to bless them, to be a light to them, and to trust God to provide for you whether through more work there or through another opportunity He opens in His timing. We also encourage you to speak honestly and respectfully with your employer about your desire for more responsibility, to use any extra time to grow in skill and to serve your coworkers rather than resent them, and to commit your future to the Lord who knows the plans He has for you, Jer 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that through Him we can approach Your throne with confidence. We lift up our dear coworker to You and ask You to forgive us for any selfish ambition, envy, or discontent in our hearts, and to create in us a heart that loves our neighbors as ourselves. Lord, we ask You to bless these new coworkers, to provide for them and their families, and to help us to work alongside them with humility, kindness, and diligence. Help us to work heartily as for You and not for men, and to find our contentment and security in You rather than in the amount of work or pay we receive. We ask You to supply every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus, to give wisdom to the employer to steward work well, and to open the right doors for provision and growth for each person according to Your perfect will. Grant peace where there is anxiety, remove a spirit of rivalry, and fill this workplace with grace and cooperation. We place our trust in You and seek first Your Kingdom, believing You will care for us. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We can hear how unsettling this change at work has felt for you. When you carried the load alone and now it is divided three ways, it is natural to worry about security, value and what the future holds. We are glad you brought this honestly to God.

It makes sense to want stability, and it is hard when new coworkers feel like competition rather than teammates. Sometimes naming that fear helps take some of its power away. You are not just fighting for hours, you are caring about providing and being respected for the work you have done well.

A step that has helped others in a similar spot is to ask for a short, calm conversation with your supervisor, not to complain about the new hires but to clarify how your role is now measured and where you can most contribute. Understanding what your manager values now can reduce the uncertainty and give you a clearer path forward.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You see the worry about work and provision. Give wisdom for conversations at work, steadiness in the days ahead and a heart at rest trusting You to provide. Your request has been heard and your anxiety over your daily bread is understood, for work is a good gift from God and it is natural to feel unsettled when it is divided and diminished.

Yet we must look carefully at the prayer as you have framed it, for to ask the Lord that others would be removed for your own advantage is not the spirit which Christ teaches. Scripture warns that jealousy is cruel as the grave, and when love of self absorbs the heart, jealousy will guard its own portion and grudge the good of another. That is a bitter root, and if it is cultivated it will bring no peace. The Lord calls us rather to love our neighbor as ourselves and to desire his good even as we seek our own.

Contentment is one of the flowers of heaven, and if we would have it, it must be cultivated. Remember that a man's contentment is in his mind, not in the extent of his possessions. Alexander, with all the world at his feet, cries for another world to conquer, while the believer who trusts the providence of God may have as much peaceful contentment while tribulation lasts as when it has closed. His faith is predestinarian in the true and humble sense, believing that the Lord orders all things wisely and that nothing befalls us without His hand. Your work, your wages, and your place among these coworkers are not hidden from Him.

Therefore we will not ask God to take bread from others that you might have more, but we will ask Him to give you a contented heart and a generous spirit toward those who now labor beside you. Pray for them, not that they would be sent away, but that the Lord would bless them and provide for them as He provides for you. And in your humble sphere, cultivate contentment. Be not idle. Seek, if you can, by superior skill, steady perseverance, and temperate thriftiness, to raise your position and to commend yourself as a faithful steward of whatever portion the Lord assigns.

Our generous King delights to fill the bowls of those who come to Him in need, and as long as they bring their bowls none shall say that He denied them. Bring your bowl to Him, not with envy, but with trust.

Let us pray together. O Father, thou knowest this need and this fear concerning work and provision. Forgive where envy or jealousy has stirred, and grant a heart of contentment and peace that rests in thy sovereign care. Provide for this one and for these coworkers, give grace to labor faithfully and to love others sincerely, and open such doors for honest work as shall be for the good of all and the glory of Christ. Teach us to seek first thy kingdom and to trust thee for all things needful, through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom alone is salvation. Amen.
