We lift up your coworker and her family before the throne of grace, especially in this time of deep concern for her granddaughter. What a heavy burden it is to watch a little one battle such a fierce illness, and our hearts ache with theirs. We are grateful for the kindness your coworker showed you in helping you secure your job, and we join you in asking the Lord to pour out His blessings and goodness upon her and her loved ones.
Father in Heaven, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for this family. You tell us in Psalm 34:18-19, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* Lord, we ask that You draw near to this grandmother, her granddaughter, and all who love them. Comfort them with Your presence, and let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
We pray for this precious little one undergoing surgery. You are the Great Physician, the One who formed her in her mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14). We ask that You guide the hands of the surgeons and medical team with Your wisdom and skill. Give them clarity, precision, and compassion as they work to remove the cancer from her tiny body. We declare Your healing power over her, Lord, and trust in Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord."*
We also pray for the grandmother and the rest of the family. This trial is not just physical but emotional and spiritual as well. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in You even when the path is dark. Remind them of Your faithfulness in Isaiah 41:10, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Let them cling to You as their refuge and strength.
We ask that You bless this family abundantly, not only in this time of need but in every area of their lives. Provide for them financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Surround them with a community of believers who will uplift them in prayer and practical support. And Lord, if it is Your will, we ask for a complete and miraculous healing for this little girl. Let her life be a testimony to Your power and grace.
We also want to gently remind this family, and all who are praying with us, of the hope we have in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only through faith in Him that we receive eternal life. John 14:6 says, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* If any in this family do not yet know Jesus as their Savior, we pray that this trial would draw them to Him. May they find in Him the peace, hope, and salvation that can never be taken away.
Lord, we trust You with this situation. You are sovereign, and Your plans are perfect, even when we cannot see the full picture. We surrender this family into Your hands, asking that Your will be done in their lives. May they experience Your love in tangible ways, and may their faith grow stronger through this trial. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
