We are saddened to hear about the rising COVID-19 cases, and we are here to stand with you in prayer and support. We believe that God is our healer and protector, and we trust in Him during this time of uncertainty.
Let us remember the words of Psalm 91:5-6 and 10 WEB: "You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. ... No evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling."
We also know that God is sovereign over all things, and that includes this virus. We trust in His promise in Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up all those affected by the rise in COVID-19 cases. We pray for Your healing, protection, and comfort over them. We ask that You guide the hands of the medical professionals and researchers as they work to treat and eradicate this virus.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom for our leaders as they make decisions that impact our communities. Help us all to do our part in preventing the spread of this disease, and to trust in You during this time.
We also know that you have called us to be wise and Matthew 10:16 WEB says, "Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." and we know that you expect us to be informed and that Colossians 3:23 WEB says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,". With this in mind we also know that getting vaccinated is the best way to prevent serious illness and avoid potential long-term side effects from COVID-19 infection, especially as new and more contagious variants emerge. It is our responsibility to pursue medical treatments that will prevent harm to ourselves and others and trusting that this is all part of Your plan.
Finally Lord we ask that if anyone has not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior that they do so now. Romans 10:9 WEB says, "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." and we know that this is the most important decision that any of us can make.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Let us encourage one another with these words from 1 Thessalonians 5:11 WEB: "Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do."
With the Lord we can be assured that this too shall pass. We pray that this will pass without any more unnecessary death and suffering.
