Courtship
We lift up your courtship before the Lord with hearts full of gratitude for the commitment you both share, seeking marriage as God intended, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman rooted in faith and love. We are moved by your care for him and your desire to see his healing, and we join you in praying for his physical restoration.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who bore our infirmities and carried our sorrows. We ask You to lay Your healing hands upon his back, Lord. Ease the pain, strengthen the muscles, and restore full mobility to his body. Your Word declares in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We claim this promise over him now. Give him wisdom to care for his body as Your temple, and surround him with Your peace as he recovers.
We also pray for your courtship, that it would remain pure and honoring to God. Guard your hearts and minds against temptation, and let your relationship be built on prayer, mutual respect, and a shared devotion to Christ. Remember 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Let this truth guide your actions and intentions as you prepare for marriage.

That kind of care can be part of God’s provision too.

The Lord's healing leaves are for the body as well as the soul. You have made your request known, and it is a mercy that you bring this burden to the throne of grace. The least thing about Christ is healing; the very leaves of that Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations. His back may be pained now, but the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings. When the palsy struck, our Lord first spoke forgiveness, then commanded the man to rise; pardon and healing are joined together. Let your courtship be a time of drawing near to the Great Physician, for Calvary possesses the balm, not merely the lancet. I shall pray that the Lord will touch him and lift him up, establishing a contact of restoring grace. Yet remember, every bodily ailment whispers of that deeper need, a broken heart healed only by Jehovah's gentle footsteps. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and these healing leaves shall not wither. Measure out a large faith in Christ, and it shall be measured back to you with healing abundance. To you that hear and believe, more shall be given.
