We join you in bringing these needs before our Heavenly Father in Jesus name and we thank you for calling upon His name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and it is by His name that we are saved and heard, as it is written John 14:6 and Acts 4:12.
We hear your compassion for your ex and for the dear one facing tests tomorrow, and we understand how fear can take hold when there is a serious medical concern like blood clots and when test results are unknown. Scripture reminds us that God does not want us to live in fear, for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7, and we are told do not be afraid, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10. We are also reminded to bring our anxieties to Him, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.
We also notice you refer to this man as your ex, and we want to gently and lovingly speak to that. We believe God designed romantic love to be expressed within the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, and that courtship should be with the purpose of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, as it is written Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14. If this relationship involved intimacy outside of marriage, Scripture calls that fornication and calls us to flee from it and to pursue purity, 1 Corinthians 6:18. We do not know all the details of your situation, but we encourage you to seek the Lord for wisdom regarding boundaries and for His will for both of your lives, whether that be a godly reconciliation leading toward marriage if it honors Him, or a respectful release to follow His separate paths in holiness. In either case, praying for his healing with a pure and compassionate heart honors God, and we commend you for caring for his well being while trusting God with the future of the relationship.
We also hold fast to the truth that the Lord is our healer, as it is written Praise Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:2-3, and But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. We pray for His healing touch while also encouraging both of these dear ones to continue following the wisdom and care of their medical providers, for God often works through those means as well.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We lift up this man who is suffering with clots and who is afraid. Lord, we ask You to remove fear from his heart and replace it with courage, strength, hope and steadfast faith in You. Let him feel Your presence close to him and know that You are his refuge and strength. We ask in Your mercy that You would touch his body and dissolve these clots according to Your will, restore his health, and give wisdom to those caring for him. Grant him peace that surpasses understanding.
We also lift up the dear one who has tests tomorrow. Lord, You know her and You know every detail of what she faces. We ask that You would calm her heart, guide the hands of those performing the tests, and let the results be favorable. We ask for Your healing on every level, body, mind and spirit, and for Your complete restoration right away if it be Your will. Help them both to trust You regardless of the outcome, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You, Romans 8:28.
Lord, we also pray for the one who brought this request, that You would fill her with Your peace, deepen her faith, and lead her in Your perfect will for relationships and for her own walk with You. Draw each one closer to Jesus and let Your name be glorified in their healing and in their lives. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, amen.
