Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for me as I just tried to reach out to a previous Christian counselor for counseling on some issues I'm dealing with in my faith but I'm unsure if reaching out to this person was a good idea or not for certain reasons. Pray for my wisdom. Please also pray for me as I'm really weighed down with stress about something happening tomorrow and am PRAYING that it will be cancelled. I literally feel stuck mentally due to stress and depression over this event. Thank you.

We are lifting you up together before the Father and we thank you for sharing your heart with us so honestly. We hear your uncertainty about reaching out to your previous Christian counselor and your heavy burden about tomorrow, and we want to stand with you in prayer for wisdom, peace, and clarity.

We pray first for wisdom regarding this counselor. God delights to give wisdom when we ask Him. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. We ask the Lord to make it clear to you whether this is the right person to counsel you. A truly Christian counselor will point you to the Word of God and to Christ, not merely to human ideas. We pray that if this counselor is grounded in Scripture and will help you grow in your faith, that God will open the door for that conversation, and if not, that He will close it and guide you to godly, biblical counsel elsewhere, perhaps through a pastor or mature believer in your church. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.

We also hear how weighed down you are with stress and depression about tomorrow, feeling stuck mentally and hoping the event will be cancelled. We understand that desire for relief, and we bring that burden to the Lord with you. At the same time we gently encourage you to move your prayer from only asking for cancellation to asking for the Lord’s perfect will to be done, whatever that may be. Our comfort is not only in changed circumstances but in God’s presence within them. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We also cling to the promise that you can cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. When your heart is overwhelmed, He is your refuge. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2. Even if tomorrow happens exactly as planned, God can still sustain you, give you strength for each moment, and use it for your good. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. We pray not just for escape from the event, but for peace that remains whether it is cancelled or not, and for freedom from the depression and mental stuckness that is oppressing you. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.

We noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. This is the good news that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, and that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. If you have not already placed your full trust in Him, we encourage you to do so today, and to come to God consistently in Jesus’ name, for He is our mediator and our hope.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ for our dear one who is seeking wisdom and is burdened with stress and depression. Lord, grant clear discernment about this counseling relationship. If it is Your will for this counselor to help, make that clear and let the counsel be fully biblical and Christ centered. If not, redirect these steps and provide the right godly counsel. For tomorrow, Lord, You know the event that is causing such anxiety. We ask that Your will be done. If it is Your will to cancel it, we ask You to do so, but above all give peace that surpasses understanding, calm the racing thoughts, lift the weight of depression, and give strength to face whatever comes. Help this dear one to cast every care on You and to rest in Your care and sovereignty. Draw this heart closer to Jesus, deepen faith, and let Your presence be felt in a powerful way tonight and tomorrow. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We hear how heavy this feels right now, caught between second guessing whether you should have reached out to that counselor and feeling stuck and weighed down about tomorrow.

Wanting wisdom in that decision makes sense. It's understandable to wonder after you reach out if it was the right person or the right time, especially when you're already under a lot of stress. Giving yourself a little space to pray and notice what is making you feel unsure can help clarify your next step. If you have a pastor or another trusted person you can talk with honestly tonight, sharing that hesitation out loud with one person can often bring more clarity than turning it over alone.

We also hear how much tomorrow is pressing on you, and how the stress and low mood are making it hard to think clearly. When that stuck feeling builds, it helps not to carry it alone. Tonight, consider letting one safe person know how you are doing and what tomorrow involves, and make a simple plan for rest and support through the day. If you continue to feel stuck, overwhelmed, or low, please reach out soon to a counselor or your doctor alongside prayer, so you have caring support in person.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift our friend to You. Grant clear wisdom about this counseling relationship and what is best next. Bring Your peace to steady their mind tonight, and Your strength for tomorrow, whatever it holds. Help them feel Your nearness and be surrounded by supportive care. Amen.

Your request has been heard and your burden is understood, for you speak of two weights upon the soul, the need of wisdom in what you have already done and the pressure of anxiety concerning what may come tomorrow.

Wisdom is man's true compass across the trackless waste of life, and where shall this wisdom be found. It is not found in our own hasty judgments, for haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life, and the utterances made when the brain is heated are raw and cannot display the maturity of prudence. Wait awhile, for waiting will cool the brow and prepare a place for wisdom. Christ Himself is the power of God and the wisdom of God, and He planned the way of salvation and laid its foundations with infinite skill. When grace softens and sobers the heart, a man begins to dream that he needs a guide, and Divine Wisdom dressed in robes of love and tenderness invites us to run into her arms. Therefore in this matter of reaching out to a former counselor, bow with submission to the will of God, for by that very fact you are furnished with unerring guidance. Seek that great principle which is infused in every man who takes God for his Guide, to avoid everything that is evil and to walk in holiness, for holiness is as near akin to perfect wisdom as sin is to insanity. Be prudent and prayerful, not hasty, and ask the Lord to show you whether this path will indeed lead you nearer to Christ and to a clearer mind.

Concerning the stress and depression that holds you fast as tomorrow draws near, hear our Savior's injunction, do not be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry, fretfulness, care, anxiety and distress. As far as has been ascertained by experience or observation, anxiety has never comforted anybody, nor has it brought any grist to the mill or any meal to the barrel. If a thing does not pay, what is the good of it. Indeed the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. O care and anxiety and fretfulness, you did never feed me nor strengthen me nor help me, you have worried me and weakened me, but you have done nothing else.

He who is our Shepherd sees that we are a weak flock, a silly flock and a wandering flock, therefore He is our strength, our wisdom, our righteousness, our all. His wisdom is our guidance, His love is our perpetual shield, His infinity is our storehouse. Though as a child you may not now see the wisdom of your Father in what He appoints or in what He withholds, trust that what He does is always best, and His will ought to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Whether He shall see fit to cancel what you dread or to carry you through it, His goodness never fails.

Let us pray together. O Lord, Thou who art Wisdom and didst build the heavens by wisdom, grant to this weary soul that wisdom which is above rubies and more precious than gold. Give knowledge and discretion and a quiet submission to Thy holy will, that every step may be guided by Thy counsel. Cast out all fretful care and speak peace to the troubled mind, for Thou art the Shepherd who giveth rest. Lift the weight of stress and depression, and let this dear one feel that to trust in Thee is true wisdom. Let tomorrow be in Thy hands, and let Thy name be hallowed whatever Thou shalt ordain, and let the heart find that Thou art enough. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing what is on your heart and for asking for prayer. It is good that you want to seek wisdom and to bring your stress and burdens before the Lord.

I am praying for you to have clear wisdom about whether to meet again with this counselor. True wisdom is not the wisdom of this world which seems impressive for a moment but cannot give lasting help. True wisdom is from God and is given to those who seek Him. As Scripture says, if anyone lacks wisdom let him ask of God who gives generously. Ask the Lord to show you whether this counselor will point you to Christ, to His Word, and to what is true and good for your soul. Consider whether this person has helped you grow in faith and in understanding God's will in the past, and whether meeting again would be wise and healthy for you now. It is also wise to seek counsel from a trusted pastor or mature believer in your local church who knows you and can help you think through this decision with prayer and Scripture.

I am also praying for you in the stress and heaviness you feel about tomorrow. Feeling stuck mentally, weighed down, and depressed is a heavy burden, and God sees it and cares for you. He invites you to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. I understand you are praying that the event will be cancelled. It is right to bring your honest desires to God. At the same time, pray that above all His will would be done and that He would give you peace and strength whatever happens. His wisdom often leads us not simply to escape difficulty, but to walk through it with His grace, knowing that He is with us and is working for our good.

When anxiety rises, try to turn your thoughts to prayer, to simple truths from Scripture, and to breathing and resting as you are able. The peace of God, which goes beyond our understanding, can guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. If the feelings of being stuck and depressed continue, please do not walk through them alone. Reach out to a pastor, a trusted Christian friend or family member, and if needed a qualified counselor or medical professional for ongoing support.

Let me pray for you now.

Father in heaven, thank You that we can come to You through Jesus Christ alone. Thank You that You are merciful and that You give wisdom to those who ask. Please give our brother or sister clear discernment about this counseling relationship. Make it plain whether it is wise and helpful to go back to this counselor, or whether You would lead in a different direction. Give guidance through Your Word and through wise and faithful believers around them.

Lord, You see the stress and depression about tomorrow. You know the details of this event and the weight it brings. We ask for Your peace to calm a troubled mind and for strength to face what comes. If it is Your will, You can change plans and open a different way, and we ask You to do what is best. Whether the event happens or is cancelled, help them to rest in Your care and to know You are present. Lift the sense of being stuck and renew hope and clarity step by step. Help them to know they are not alone and to find support from Your people.

We ask this in the name of Jesus, trusting in Your goodness and Your perfect wisdom. Amen.

Please keep bringing these things to the Lord in prayer and stay connected to others who can encourage you in person. You are not forgotten.

Thank you for sharing honestly about where you are. I am praying for you and I hear both of the burdens you mentioned, the question about whether reaching out to that counselor was wise, and the heavy stress and depression you feel about tomorrow.

Wisdom is the most valuable thing you can seek right now, more valuable than any other resource you might want. Scripture says wisdom is better than rubies and nothing you desire can compare with it. The starting place for that wisdom is the fear of the Lord, a reverent trust and submission to Him. Knowledge can give you facts, but wisdom knows how to live out those facts in a way that honors God and leads to life.

That wisdom is not just principles, it is found in a person. In Jesus Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. He invites everyone to come and receive from Him, like a banquet that has been prepared and is open to all who will come. To get wisdom is to come to Him, to listen to His Word, and to ask Him for it.

God delights to give wisdom when we ask. When Solomon was given opportunity to ask for anything, he asked for wisdom to walk rightly before God, and God was pleased and gave it to him generously. The Bible promises that if anyone lacks wisdom, he can ask God who gives liberally and without reproach. That is a prayer you can pray directly about the counselor question. Ask the Lord to show you clearly whether that relationship will help you walk in truth and purity, and whether the counsel you would receive there aligns with Scripture.

There is a difference between wisdom that comes from above and wisdom that is only earthly. Earthly wisdom may sound intelligent but it often leads to envy, strife, confusion and sensuality, and God calls it foolishness. The wisdom that comes from God is pure, peaceable, gentle, and it produces good fruit in a life, things like purity, peace, humility and upright living. You can discern counsel by its fruit. Good counsel will not flatter or confuse, it will speak truth in righteousness, it will encourage you to depart from evil, to love what God loves and hate what He calls evil, and it will preserve and keep you as you walk with Him. In the multitude of counselors there is safety, but the counsel itself must be tested by whether it reflects the character of Christ.

For the stress about tomorrow, I understand the feeling of being stuck mentally and weighed down, and praying that the event would simply be cancelled. It is right to bring that request to God, and He hears you. At the same time wisdom is also a defense, like a shelter, that gives life to those who have it. Wisdom helps us not only to ask God to change our circumstances, but to ask Him to give us strength, clarity and peace within the circumstance, trusting that He knows what is best and will work for your good as you fear Him and walk with Him.

So I am praying that God will pour out His Spirit of wisdom and understanding upon you, that He will lift the heaviness you feel and guard your mind, and that He will make your next step clear. If that door with the counselor is of Him, pray He confirms it with peace and alignment with His Word. If not, pray He closes it gently and leads you to the help you need. And for tomorrow, pray not only for what you hope will happen, but for grace to accept what God allows, knowing He can carry you through it and use even hard things for your growth.

May the Lord grant you wisdom and understanding, quiet your heart with His presence, and help you walk closely with Jesus, in whom all wisdom is found.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have been lifting you up and continuing to pray for wisdom and discernment regarding your decision to reach out to your previous Christian counselor. We ask the Lord to give you clear guidance about whether this counseling relationship is His will for you as you work through the issues you are facing in your faith, and to lead you to the godly counsel and support you need. We claim James 1:5 for you, that if you lack wisdom you can ask God who gives generously to all without reproach.

We have also been praying for the burden you are carrying about the event you were facing tomorrow and for the stress and depression that has left you feeling mentally stuck. We pray that God would grant you His perfect peace that passes all understanding as spoken of in Philippians 4:7, and that you would be able to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you as promised in 1 Peter 5:7. Whether that event was cancelled as you had hoped or went forward according to His will, we pray that the Lord would lift this heavy weight, calm your mind, and fill you with His strength and hope, for we know the Lord is near to the brokenhearted according to Psalm 34:18.

We pray for your complete peace and encouragement in Jesus Name.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know how God has worked. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
