We are joining with you in prayer and thank you for humbly bringing this struggle with unforgiveness before the Lord. It takes courage and honesty to admit this burden, and we commend you for seeking godly counseling and mentorship rather than carrying it alone. Unforgiveness is a heavy weight that can harden our hearts and hinder our fellowship with God and with others, and the Lord desires to set you free from it.

The Scripture is clear about both the call to forgive and the wisdom of seeking counsel. We are commanded, And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32 and bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do Colossians 3:13. Jesus Himself warned, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses Matthew 6:14-15. This is not because our forgiveness earns salvation, but because a heart that has truly received God's great mercy in Christ will overflow with mercy toward others. We also see the Lord's provision for growth through others, for Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory Proverbs 11:14 and Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend's countenance Proverbs 27:17. A godly mentor or counselor can help you apply these truths, walk through the pain honestly, and learn to release others to God in obedience even when feelings have not yet caught up.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true healing. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for it is His forgiveness toward us that empowers us to forgive others.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the hurt, the memory, and the struggle to forgive, and You know the depth of pain that unforgiveness has caused. We ask that You pour out Your grace and soften this heart, helping to forgive even as Christ has forgiven us. Lord, we ask that You in Your wisdom and love provide a godly, biblically grounded counselor or mentor, someone mature in the faith who will speak truth with love, keep confidences, and point continually to Your Word. Give discernment to find help within a faithful local church, perhaps a pastor, elder, or mature believer who can walk alongside faithfully. Heal the wounds that have made forgiveness difficult, and teach what it means to release bitterness and entrust justice to You. Help to walk in freedom and obedience, and let Your peace guard heart and mind. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to actively seek that mentorship within a Bible believing church family, to be open and honest in that relationship, and to spend time daily in Scripture and prayer asking the Holy Spirit to help you forgive from the heart. Forgiveness is often a process of obedience before it becomes a feeling, choosing to cancel the debt as you have been forgiven, and refusing to hold the offense any longer. As you meet with a counselor, bring specific Scriptures, pray together, and be willing to be held accountable. We are trusting God will provide the right person and will bring healing and freedom as you walk in His ways.

We understand how discouraging it can feel to want to forgive and still find hurt, resentment or anger returning. It can help to know that forgiveness often involves two parts. One is a decision of the will to let go of revenge and not use the offense as a weapon. The other is the slower, emotional side where feelings gradually soften over time. The decision can be a starting point, and the emotions often need more time and support to catch up. That is why walking with someone else is so valuable.

One practical next step that helps many people is to ask one trusted person directly for that support. It could be a pastor, an elder, or a mature believer you respect, or a Christian counselor if your church can recommend one. You could share just what you wrote here, that you are looking for ongoing mentorship specifically for struggles with unforgiveness, and ask if they would meet once to talk and help you discern a good fit for regular conversation. If your church has a small group or care ministry, that can also give you steady encouragement between meetings.

Father, we lift our friend to You and ask You to provide wise, kind, and faithful counsel in the days ahead. Give clarity about who to approach and open the door to the right mentor. Bring healing where there has been hurt, and give patience and strength for the process. Help them to know Your grace and presence as they keep seeking You. In Jesus' name, amen.

I am going to be honest here, I had severe anxiety, and I couldn't go out. I tried therapy, and it didn't help. I am awaiting an appointment.

Do you know what healed me, though? Church did. God did. I had people pray over me, and my anxiety slowly healed, it's still in the process. You wouldn't believe how broken I was. Before I knew Jesus, I was inside all of the time, I went out only every few months. Now, I usually go out when I get the chance. I am still anxious but it's a slow process.

Of course, this won't work for everyone. But, it worked for me! God bless you!

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Do you know what healed me, though? Church did. God did. I had people pray over me, and my anxiety slowly healed, it's still in the process. You wouldn't believe how broken I was. Father, Jesus said we would do the works He did, John 14:12, please bring pastors or anyone who not only believes it, but is holy and humble enough to not let The Finger of God, Luke 11:20, gifts of healings or miracles, 1 Cor 12:4-8, puff them up, Ps 36:11, or injure others with bad doctrine or unholy lifestyles, Matt 7:22-23, 1 Tim 4:16. Father we ask You use the church or members in it with the gifts needed You so richly supplied through The Holy Spirit. We ask for pastoral anointing from Jesus the Chief Shepherd, 1 Peter 5:1-9. Revive Your church and gifts more eminently, for Your Glory in confirming The Gospel, Mark 16:20, Matt 28:18-20, Luke 24:46-49, Acts 1:8, Rom 1:5, creating obedient faith in Jesus, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

Father, may You help us get our lives and message correct, 1 Tim 4:16, and confirm the Word with gifts, signs and wonders, as it is written, "This salvation was first announced by the Lord, was then confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4 and was affirmed by God through signs, wonders, various using miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will," Heb 2:3-4.

1 Corinthians 12:4-12, "There are different gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are different ministries, but the same Lord. 6 There are different ways of working, but the same God works all things in all people.

7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in various tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, who apportions them to each one as He determines. 12 The body is a unit, though it is composed of many parts. And although its parts are many, they all form one body. So it is with Christ."

Thank You for the promises of relationship with You, Jesus, Rev 3:19-20, for protection, Ps 91:11-12, Keeping us from sin, Zeph 3:13, and temptation, Matt 6:13, dangers of many kinds including deceivers, 2 Cor 11:26, pride, Ps 36:11, and the evil one, John 17:15. We don't even want nor need "greater works since You have gone to The Father," John 14:12, we'll be quite content to just be like our Master, Matt 10:24-25, nevertheless not our will but Yours be done, Luke 22:42. Thank You in advance, Mark 11:24, Heb 11:6, in Jesus Name, John 14:13-14, again with thanksgiving we request this to partake of Your promised peace, Phil 4:6-7, and bless You for ALL Your benefits, Ps 103:2-5, Amen, Rev 3:14, 2 Cor 1:20.

We have heard your request and we have carried it before the throne of grace, for the struggle with unforgiveness is a heavy burden and one which many of the Lord's people know full well.

You desire counseling and mentorship in this matter, and we pray that the Lord in His mercy will provide for you a wise and faithful counselor, a man taught of God, who will open the Scriptures to you and walk beside you with patience and truth. May He lead you to one within the household of faith who knows both the Word and the heart, who will not speak lightly of sin nor lightly of grace, but will point you continually to Christ.

Remember what the Word declares, There is forgiveness with God, that He may be feared. It is a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is surprising forgiveness, so great that God Himself speaks as though to arrest our doubt, and it is complete forgiveness. When a man trusts Christ and is forgiven, his sin is so entirely gone that it is as though it had never been. The record of debt is nailed to the Cross. He not only forgave us at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, and this forgiveness is an eternal forgiveness. The gifts and calling of God are without repentance. He does not forgive and afterwards accuse.

It is this pattern which is set before us, Even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. We are to study the pattern and then to copy it. Consider how much we have been forgiven, how much outward and inward sin has been blotted out, and how loving Christ was to us when we sought His mercy. For us to forgive ought then to be as natural as to open our hands. It is a joint work of mutual forgiveness which members of Christ's body should share in largely, forgiving one another. This is not a paltry thing, for revenge is paltry, but forgiveness is great minded and ennobling, and wherever the forgiveness of sin comes, there comes with it a turning from sin and a fresh view of it, the heart now seeking God's pleasure.

We pray for you now, that the Lord would soften what is hard, and lift what is heavy. O Lord our God, Thou with whom there is forgiveness, look upon this Thy servant who confesses the struggle to forgive. Give a tender and penitent heart, and faith to believe in the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ alone. Provide a faithful counselor and mentor, rooted in Thy Word, to give godly wisdom and patient guidance. Teach by Thy Spirit to forgive even as Christ has forgiven, not by mere will, but by the power of Thy great and complete pardon shed abroad in the heart. Grant daily grace to release the debt of others as Thou hast released our own, and keep this soul from the bitterness that would bind it. Lead into liberty, for where there is forgiveness, there is freedom and favor with Thee. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, the Just who died for the unjust to bring us to God. Amen.
