Could I marrige ###

We have heard your heart's cry for marriage with the one you love and we join you in bringing this deep desire before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand the strong feeling you expressed when you said you cannot live without this person, and we want to gently and lovingly bring this into the light of Scripture.

We must lovingly rebuke the thought that your life depends on another person, for our life and our hope must be found in Christ alone. To place any person in the place that only God should occupy can become idolatry and will ultimately lead to disappointment, for people will fail us but God never will. We are called to love God first with all our heart and to trust Him with our future spouse. As it is written, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 and Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33. We also want to encourage you to examine if this courtship is honoring to God. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and that any relationship between a man and a woman should be a courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. Genesis 2:24 and What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart. Matthew 19:6. If you are not yet united in faith in Christ, remember Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14. And if there is any sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we urge you to repent and flee from it, for the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord. Flee sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18. God’s design for love is pure and holy within marriage.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we must share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and confess Him as Lord, for If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the deep longing for marriage and the love felt for the one mentioned. We ask that Your perfect will be done in this relationship. If it is Your will for them to be joined in holy marriage, we pray You would open the doors, provide confirmation, and lead them toward a Christ centered marriage that honors You. If it is not Your will, we pray You would give peace, healing, and clarity, and help this dear one to find complete satisfaction and life in You alone. Help both to seek You first, to delight in You, and to trust Your good plans, for You have said For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. Guard this heart from anxiety and draw both closer to Jesus. We pray for purity, wisdom, godly counsel, and patience as You prepare them for marriage if that is Your plan. Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We appreciate you letting us know what is weighing on your heart. Loving someone this much and longing for marriage is a deep and personal hope, and we hear the ache in your words about not wanting to be without .

When feelings run this strong it is easy to feel unsettled and to carry a lot of pressure alone. You do not have to carry it alone. God sees your heart and cares about both of you, your future, and the decisions ahead.

As you pray about marriage, one steady next step can be to invite a trusted pastor or a mature couple who knows you both to listen and walk with you. Talking openly about your faith, your hopes for marriage, how you handle conflict and make decisions together can bring clarity and peace, and give you wise support whether the path ahead is quick or takes more time.

We are holding you both in prayer.

Father, we lift our friend and to You. You know their hearts and their desire for marriage. Give them wisdom, peace and clear direction as they seek Your will. Guard them with Your care, help them to honor You and one another, and lead them step by step in the way You have for them. In Jesus name, amen.

There is a heaviness and an earnest longing in your words which has been laid before the Lord, and it is right that you should bring such burdens to Him in prayer.

You say you cannot live without this other person, and that very word shows where the heart is pressed. Let me entreat you to consider that life itself is not found in any creature, but in God alone through Jesus Christ our Lord. There is a longing which is deeper and more needful than all other longings, and that is to find God Himself. When the soul pants to find Him in the chamber of prayer, in the duties of daily life, in joy and in sorrow, then it finds a well of living water which no earthly love can give. Prayer is the pulse of the soul, and it tries what we are. Will we call upon God only in distress, or will we always call upon Him? Let this trial drive you not only to seek the gift, but to seek the Giver.

Concerning marriage, hear what the Scripture teaches, for it is a holy and weighty thing. Marriage is not a light or changeable bond, but a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, made before God, wherein the two become one. It is a picture of the love of Christ to His Church, a special and particular love, set apart and sacred. Whatever is outside that holy ordinance, whether it be living together without that covenant or any union which God has not ordained, cannot have dominion over the child of God, and we must pray, let not any iniquity have dominion over me. If you would be holy and happy, you must desire not only to be joined to another, but to be joined to Christ first, and then to walk in His judgments with a pure heart.

Therefore let your prayer be made humble and earnest, spreading your case before the Most High with all its arguments, yet bowing to His will. Do not tear the wheels from your prayer by self will, but pray as one who says, Lord, what Thou wilt give, first make me to long for what is holy. What God intends to give, He first sets us longing for, and prayer is the embodiment of that God given longing. Bring your desires to Him, confess your need of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, ask for cleansing and guidance, and leave the answer with Him, for He often answers not as we expect, but as infinite wisdom sees best.

We will pray for you, and our prayer shall be in your present trouble. We pray that the Lord will regard the prayer of the destitute and not despise your cry, that He will reveal Christ to you as your life and comfort, that He will keep you from evil and lead you in paths of holiness, that if it be His will to give you marriage, it may be in the Lord, pure and honourable and lifelong according to His holy institution, and that if He withholds what you now desire, He will yet satisfy you with Himself and make your ways directed to keep His statutes. May you be helped to bind His word about your heart, to saturate your whole life with godliness, and to find in Christ a love which never fails.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request for prayer concerning marriage and the deep affection you feel for the person you mentioned, and we want to bring this before the Lord with care for you and for what is holy.

Scripture teaches that marriage is honorable and the bed undefiled, and that it is a bond ordained by God. Marriage itself is not holiness, but it preserves the holiness that comes through faith in Jesus Christ when it is lived in chastity, faithfulness and order. For this reason we are taught to follow peace with all people and holiness, and to pursue marriage only in the Lord, with honor and with a clear conscience before God.

We also hear in your words a sense of great dependence on another person. Our first hope for you is that you would know the love and strength that comes through salvation in Jesus Christ alone, for He alone is the source of life and the one who sustains us. When our hearts are joined to the Lord we become one spirit with Him, and from that union we can love others well and make wise decisions about marriage.

Therefore we will pray for you in this way, and we invite you to pray with us with unusual earnestness, watching over your own heart and life before God:

Father in heaven, we thank you that you hear prayer when we seek you with a sincere heart. We ask that you would draw this dear one close to Jesus Christ and establish holiness through faith. Grant wisdom and peace concerning this desire for marriage. If this relationship can be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, entered into in the Lord with chastity, honor and faithfulness, give clear guidance, the blessing of families and pastors who counsel wisely, and grace to wait and to live purely until that covenant is made. If it is not according to your will and your design, give strength to accept your will, comfort in disappointment, and power to walk in purity and obedience. Teach both persons to honor you with their bodies and their choices, not living together outside of marriage, but keeping the marriage bed undefiled. Help them to be alert in prayer themselves, to hear your word and to show mercy to others, as you show mercy to us. Lead them into what is good and holy, for your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue in prayer yourself, to stay rooted in Scripture, to seek counsel from faithful pastors in your church, and to pursue a life that is orderly and pure before God. If you are living together or sexually involved outside of marriage, we urge you to separate that practice and to pursue either marriage according to God's design or a holy life apart, trusting that God will give grace for each step. May the Lord give you peace, clarity and holiness as you seek Him.
