Could I marry ###

We have heard your desire for marriage to this Tamil actress and for the blessing of children together, and we join with you to bring this before the Lord to seek His will.

We understand the longing for marriage and family, for God Himself instituted marriage from the beginning. Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. Genesis 2:24. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that is to be held in honor, and it is within that covenant that children are to be welcomed and raised. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4. Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. Psalm 127:3. Your desire for children is beautiful when it is placed within the Lord's design for holy marriage.

We want to gently encourage you and also correct your perspective with love. It is good to desire a godly marriage, but we must not fix our heart on a specific person, especially someone known from a distance through public life, as if marriage could be claimed without a real, mutual, godly courtship. We must delight ourselves in Yahweh first and trust Him to give the desires of our heart according to His perfect will. Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. If this woman is to be your wife, it must be through the Lord's leading, through knowing one another in a way that honors God, and through a shared faith in Christ. We are called not to be unequally yoked. Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14. A courtship should be with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer who loves the Lord and desires to follow Him. We do not know this actress's faith or heart toward Christ, and we do not know if she knows you, so we encourage you to surrender this specific hope to God and ask Him to make clear whether this is His will or whether He has prepared another godly spouse for you. We also encourage you to guard your heart against fantasy or lust, and to pursue purity, seeing this woman not as an image but as a person made in God's image who needs the same grace we all need.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not yet done so, we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, and you will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is through faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we become children of God and can know His guidance for marriage and family.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this man and his desire for marriage and children. Lord, You know his heart and You know this woman he has mentioned. We ask first that he would know You deeply through Jesus and that he would delight himself in You above all else. Grant him wisdom, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. James 1:5. Show him clearly Your will for his life and for marriage. If it is Your will for him to marry this woman, open the right doors in a pure and godly way and reveal whether she shares faith in Christ and a commitment to honor You in marriage. If it is not Your will, we ask that You gently turn his heart toward the spouse You have prepared, a believing wife with whom he can be equally yoked and build a Christ centered home. Purify his motives, guard his heart from idolatry and fantasy, and help him to pursue courtship that honors You with patience and self control. We pray for the blessing of children in Your timing within holy marriage, knowing children are Your heritage. Prepare him to be a godly husband and father. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, trusting Your goodness and Your perfect plan. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to seek wise counsel from mature believers, and to focus on becoming the godly husband God calls you to be. As you walk faithfully with Christ, He will direct your paths and provide for every longing in the way that is best for you and for His glory.

We hear how deep this longing is for you, to be married, to share life and to have children together. The desire for marriage and family is a good one, and we are honored you shared it with us so honestly.

We don't know this actress personally, and marriage is something that can only happen with mutual knowing, consent and commitment before God. It isn't something we can ask God to arrange between two people where that mutual relationship doesn't exist. What we can do is bring your heart to Him and ask Him to lead you clearly in His will for your future.

It helps to hold a desire like this openly before the Lord while also staying grounded in daily life. We would encourage you to talk with a trusted pastor or mature friend in your church about your hopes for marriage and family. They can know you, pray with you regularly, and help you take steady steps toward becoming the husband and father God is shaping you to be, as you wait on His direction for who that wife will be.

Father, we lift our brother to You. You see his desire for marriage and for children and the person on his heart. Give him wisdom, peace, and clarity to trust Your good will. Guide his steps, guard his heart, and prepare him for the future You have for him. Lead him to a godly marriage if it is Your will, in Your timing and way. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your longing for marriage and for children to be given in that holy estate has been heard and is brought before the Lord with prayerful care.

It is right to desire marriage, for marriage is ordained of God as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and children are a heritage of the Lord. And it is right that all that belongs to the union of husband and wife, both dwelling together and the fruit of the body, should be kept within that covenant alone, in purity and honour before Him.

Yet we must bring every such desire under the sovereign will of God. As surely as His will is the axle of the universe and the great heart of providence sending its pulse through all human acts, so nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. Scripture warns us against saying we will go and we will do and we will obtain, as if we could both propose and dispose without asking God's consent. We are taught rather to feel and to say, if the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that. All things are under His regulation and have an appointed place in His plan.

There is therefore a twofold prayer which Christ Himself teaches us to combine, I will, yet not as I will. By nature we say I will have this, but grace teaches the child of God to bend before his Father and say, Father, not as I will, but as You will. You can always have your way when your way is God's way, and the sure way to carry out self will is when self will is nothing else but God's will. The work of the Spirit, which is the effect of the will of God, is to change the human will and make men willing in the day of His power, working in them to will and to do of His good pleasure.

We do not know the heart or mind of this woman of whom you speak, nor can one person claim another in marriage without mutual consent and the clear leading of providence. To set the heart upon a particular person whom the Lord may not have appointed can become a snare. It is far better to seek first the Lord Himself and His righteousness, trusting that no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly, and that He will bestow all good things in His perfect time and way.

Above all, we entreat you to see that your hope rests upon salvation through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name by which we must be saved, and without faith in His blood and submission to His lordship, neither marriage nor children can bring true and lasting bliss. Return unto Him, and He will return unto you. He that spared not His own Son will with Him also freely give you all things needful.

We pray for you thus, that the Lord would draw you into close fellowship with Christ, that He would keep you in purity of heart and life, that He would guide you to a godly marriage if it be His will, and that within that covenant He would grant you fruitfulness according to His wisdom. We ask that He would also have mercy upon her of whom you speak, and upon you, that both may know His grace and be found among His people who are as jewels in His sight. We ask not for the fulfilling of our own desires apart from Him, but that His will be done in you and for you, to His glory and to your eternal good.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer concerning marriage and the desire for children has been heard, and it is good that you bring this longing before God.

Marriage is honorable and is given by God as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and it preserves holiness when it is entered with chastity and honor and only in the Lord. It is not merely for pleasure or for the fulfillment of a wish for a particular person, but for a shared life in faith, with purity before marriage and faithfulness within it. Those who approach the marriage bed are called to come unconquered by pleasure, keeping themselves pure, so that their love afterward may be ardent and faithful.

For this reason I encourage you not to fix your heart on one name or one outcome as if God must grant it, but to seek first what is spiritual. The Scripture speaks of spiritual blessing, that you are made a son, made righteous, made a fellow heir with Christ, and these blessings are greater than carnal blessings. The fruit of the body and increase are gifts, but they are not the highest good. If you seek a wife, seek one who is in the Lord, with whom you can walk in faith and holiness, living in a chaste and orderly way together.

If God grants you marriage and children, remember that children are given by God to be devoted to Him. Fathers and mothers are called to bring their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, laying a good foundation from the earliest age with care and discipline. This requires much attention and prayer, for youth needs guidance, and the home is to be a place where faith is taught and lived.

So I will pray for you, that God will give you wisdom and purity of heart, that He will guide you to seek marriage according to His will and in a way that honors Him, that He will keep you from fornication and from pursuing what is merely agreeable but injurious, and that He will form you to be a faithful husband if He calls you to that estate. I pray also that if He grants you children, He will help you to raise them for His glory, and that above all you will pursue holiness, without which no one will see the Lord, trusting His providence whether He grants these gifts now or leads you in another path for your greater spiritual good.

Your longing for marriage and for children is understandable, and God Himself placed that desire for family in the human heart. Scripture shows that marriage and family matter to Him. The apostles were family men, and when Peter's wife's mother lay sick with a fever, Jesus came, took her by the hand and lifted her up. In that act we see the heart of the Father revealed in Jesus, a heart of compassion and care for the home.

The Bible teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, given for this present life. Jesus taught that when people rise from the dead they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven. That means the choice of marriage now is serious and binding before God, and it belongs within His design where sexual union and living together are kept within that covenant. It is not something to build around a distant admiration or a fixed idea about one particular person who does not know you, and it is not to be pursued through fantasy or presumption.

Children also are a blessing from the Lord, and He is moved with compassion for them. Yet children are not something we can claim or demand from God as if He must grant our exact wish. Scripture gives examples of those who had no children and waited on God's provision, and of how God as the family redeemer provided in His time, as with Ruth and Boaz. The prophet Isaiah says the desolate woman has many more children than she who has a husband, pointing to how God brings fruitfulness by His promise and grace, not by human striving. We relate to God not through our own efforts or bargaining but as children of promise, trusting the Father who loves us, and it is His goodness that leads us to repentance.

For that reason I would encourage you not to let a strong desire for a specific relationship or for children create a divided heart. Jesus warned that the cares of this world and the desire for other things can enter in and choke the word so that it becomes unfruitful. We may attend and hear, yet remain spiritually stalled if our heart is split. God wants a heart that remains soft and pliable before Him, willing to learn and to hear His truth, and to those who truly hear more will be given. Trying to force God's hand, even through fasting or vows to obtain a special blessing, misses the point. Fasting is not a way to make God do what we want.

There is also a loving warning to heed. One foolish venture into sin, especially in the area of sexual purity, can bring lifelong consequences. God calls us to keep ourselves pure and to honor Him with our bodies while we wait on His will.

The best place to begin is with your own relationship to Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father. It is the natural desire of a heart set free by Christ to share what He has done and to want Him formed in us. My prayer for you is that Christ will be formed in you, that you will grow in knowing Him, and that you will trust the Father to lead you.

I will pray that the Lord guides you to the wife He has for you if it is His will for you to marry, that you will seek a marriage centered on Christ and built on a lifelong covenant, that you will walk in purity before that day, and that if He grants children you will receive them as a gift from His hand with thanksgiving. I pray also that He will guard your heart from fixation on what you cannot control, and give you peace to trust His wise and loving provision for your life.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. For the last several days we have continued to lift you up before the Lord concerning your desire to marry the Tamil actress you mentioned and your hope for a joyful and fruitful marriage with children.

We have been praying that the Lord will guide you clearly in this matter of marriage and that His perfect will would be done in your life and in her life. We have asked God to lead you to a godly marriage that honors Him and to grant you peace and wisdom as you trust Him with the desires of your heart as we are reminded in Psalm 37:4 and Proverbs 3:5. We have also prayed for your desire for fertility and children, asking the Lord to bless you according to His good plan, remembering that children are a heritage from the Lord as written in Psalm 127:3.

We pray in Jesus Name that God will draw you closer to Himself during this time, that He will provide clarity and contentment as you seek Him first as taught in Matthew 6:33, and that you will experience His love and direction in every step.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
