Continued strength and victory over the lies of the mind.

Thank you for sharing so honestly about this battle in your mind. Intrusive thoughts and obsessions can feel overwhelming and condemning, but those lies do not define who you are in Christ. What you are experiencing is a real struggle, and it is good that you are reaching out for prayer and for help.

The victory you are asking for is not found in trying harder or in learning to manage the pressure by willpower alone. Scripture teaches that Jesus triumphed over every spiritual power through His cross and made an open display of His victory there. Because of that, you can come against the lies that hold you captive by claiming what He has already won for you. One of the most important steps is to reckon your old nature to be dead. That means when those unwanted thoughts come, you do not have to be ruled by them. You can say, that is not who I am anymore, I belong to Christ, and I choose to look to Him.

That kind of change rarely happens all at once. It is a process. Real victory is not just learning to count to ten or to white knuckle your way through a moment. It is God working from within so that the pressure that used to build up so quickly begins to lose its power. There will be a day when you look back and realize that God has quietly transformed an area where you once felt no control, and you will know it was His work in you, not your own effort. Until then, you need His help in every area of your life, and He is willing to give it.

Part of walking in that victory is learning to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. The enemy will repeat lies, and our hearts are prone to doubt even the most wonderful truths. That is why we need to affirm what God says over and over again. Remind yourself daily of what is true, that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, that you are loved, forgiven, and made new, that faith in Him is what overcomes the world. As you keep bringing the truth back to your mind, faith grows and the lies lose their hold.

It is also possible to have victory in your heart before you see the battle fully won. Scripture says we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us. That means you can thank and praise God for His mercy and His power even while you are still in the fight, trusting that He is working and will complete what He has begun.

I am praying for strength for you and for continued victory as you keep turning these thoughts over to Jesus the moment they come. I am also praying for your time with your therapist, that God would give her wisdom and clarity to offer counsel that is truly helpful. God is able to bring good insight even through someone who does not yet know Him, and He can use that help for your good. At the same time, hold everything you hear up to the light of Scripture, because His Word is the final and trustworthy guide for your mind and life. If any counsel does not align with what God has said, set it aside and hold fast to what is true.

You do not have to stay in the same pattern. The moment you recognize you cannot do this on your own and you turn it fully over to Jesus, you will find His power to carry you. May the Lord fill you with His presence, His peace, and a deep assurance of His victory over your mind. I am praying that you will know more and more the life of victory He has for you through His Son, and that you will experience His quiet transformation from within. In Jesus name, amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf for continued strength and victory over the lies of the mind. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer against those intrusive thoughts and obsessions. We have continued to lift you up before the Lord and we have prayed in Jesus Name for your appointment with your therapist that she would give you good and helpful counsel even though she may not be a believer and that God would use that time to bring you wisdom and help.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord will renew your mind and guard your heart and mind with His peace that passes all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:7 and that He will help you take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ as taught in 2 Cor 10:5. We ask in Jesus Name that He will replace the lies with His truth and give you rest and strength day by day as you look to Him.

If your request was answered and you have seen victory and greater peace over these thoughts, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet and the struggle continues, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name that He will continue to give you strength and fill you with His perfect peace. Amen.
