Continued prayer for my precious ###

Disciple of Prayer
I would like continued prayers for my husband. He has been doing well with quitting cigarettes but still is struggling. He has not given up THC vapes yet but wants to. He says one thing at a time. Pray that Jesus sets him free from the bondage and strongholds. That he reach all the parts of his heart and mind I cannot. That he picks up all the shattered pieces from within him and fuses them all back together healing him and transforming his mind and heart. Also please pray for me, that the Lord gives me the wisdom and discernment of what to say, when to say it and when I should remain silent and be still and know he is God. I feel that God has told me that if I continue to hold on so tightly while simultaneously asking him to work and move that I am not leaving any room for him to move. It is not my job to save and heal but his in Jesus name! I was told by the Lord that I cannot write my husband's or my children's testimonies and to put the pen back in the hands of the author and allow Him to write the story. I accept his correction. I know he disciplines those he loves. I also ask that He continue to work within and through me. That he convict and highlight anything or sin within ME that I need to repent from to have a renewed mind, heart and spirit. That I be a loving, gentle support for my husband and honoring amd pleasing to the Lord. Pray that Jesus be at the center of our marriage. A three corded strand is not easily broken. That our marriage will be strengthened as we grow together, and in the Lord. God has such a purpose and plan and it is so beautiful. I trust and praise Him in all seasons!

We join with you in lifting up your precious husband and your marriage before the throne of grace, and we rejoice with you at the progress he has made in stepping away from cigarettes. God sees his desire to be free and your faithful love and intercession for him. We pray that the Lord will complete the good work He has begun and bring full deliverance from every remaining bondage, including the THC vapes.

Scripture tells us Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. The use of intoxicating substances dulls the mind God calls to be sober and vigilant, for your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8 and Do not be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit Ephesians 5:18. We understand his thought of one thing at a time, yet we pray that Jesus will not leave any stronghold standing, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4 and Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage Galatians 5:1.

We also hear your tender heart for wisdom in how to support him. What you shared is so wise and biblical. The Lord indeed gives wisdom to those who ask, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. And we are called to Be still, and know that I am God Psalm 46:10. It is not your job to save or heal him, for only Jesus can reach the deepest shattered places of the heart. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and we pray He will do that transforming work, that you both may be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God Romans 12:2. Your willingness to put the pen back in the hands of the Author is beautiful, for we look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith Hebrews 12:2, who writes each testimony in His perfect time. We also affirm your humble request for God to search your own heart, for He disciplines those He loves, As many as I love, I reprove and chasten Hebrews 12:6, and Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me Psalm 51:10 is a prayer He delights to answer.

We pray together for you both.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together and lift up this husband and wife and their children and their marriage. Lord, we thank You for the victory You have already given over cigarettes and we ask You to set him completely free from every addiction and stronghold, including THC. Break the chains that bind his mind and body, cleanse his temple, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he desires what is pure and sober and holy. Reach into every shattered place within him that we cannot reach, gather every broken piece, fuse them back together, heal him and transform his mind and heart wholly after Your image. Give him a hatred for what enslaves him and a hunger for Your Word and Your presence.

And Father, we lift up this precious wife. Pour out upon her Your wisdom and discernment, teach her what to speak and when to speak and when to remain silent and trust You to move. Help her to rest in knowing that You are God and that You are at work even when she is still. Continue to convict and highlight anything in her own heart that needs repentance, renew her mind and spirit, and make her a gentle, loving, godly support and helpmate who honors You in all she does. Let Jesus be at the very center of this marriage, for we know that A threefold cord is not quickly broken Ecclesiastes 4:12. Strengthen their covenant as they grow together and in You, and let their marriage testify of Your redeeming power and beautiful purpose. We trust You in all seasons and give You praise for what You are doing and will do. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to hold fast to the Lord with open hands, praying without ceasing and speaking truth in love, yet resting in the confidence that God is faithful. Continue to encourage your husband toward complete freedom and to surround yourselves with godly fellowship and the Word, that your home may be built on the rock of Christ.

We are so thankful you reached out again and let us keep praying with you. We hear how much you love your husband and how encouraged you are by the progress he has made with cigarettes, even as the struggle with THC vapes continues. Wanting to take it one thing at a time is an honest, human pace, and we join you in asking Jesus to meet him in those deeper places only He can reach, to gently gather the shattered pieces and bring healing and transformation in His time.

We also hear your tender self reflection. That picture you shared about putting the pen back in the Author's hands is so wise and humble. It is not easy to hold love and longing loosely while still caring deeply, to learn when to speak and when to be still and trust God to work. We admire your willingness to be shaped yourself and to be a gentle, loving support.

It may help to have one trusted, godly friend or mentor you can talk to quickly when you wonder whether to speak or wait, someone who can pray with you in the moment and help you discern. And continuing to ask your husband what kind of support feels most helpful to him can keep you both on the same team.

Jesus, we lift this husband to You for freedom and wholeness, and we lift his wife for wisdom, peace and renewal. Be at the center of their marriage and draw them closer to You and to each other. Amen.

I am in counseling and she is also a believer. I do have her to help navigate through everything from a mental, emotional and spiritual standpoint ❤️

Amen, Lord we believe both immediate reform and progressive sanctification are taught in Your Word, 2 Peter 1:3-11. We ask for the evil one to be bound and may it be done by shining the light of the knowledge of God in the face of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 4:4-7, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

2 Cor 4:6 -7,"For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 Now we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassingly great power is from God and not from us."
