We hear your cry and we stand with you in this long and weary battle, for more than a decade of struggling every second to find peace and joy is a heavy burden to carry and we do not take it lightly. We thank you for sharing this with us and for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find victory.
We want you to know that what you are experiencing is real. The enemy does attack the children of God, and anxiety and lack of peace can be part of that spiritual battle. Yet scripture reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of wickedness, and God has not left us defenseless. Ephesians 6:11 says Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. And James 4:7 tells us Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. We are not called to fight in our own strength, but to submit to God and resist the enemy in the power of Christ.
The Lord does not want you to live in constant anxiety. His desire for you is peace and joy, which are part of the fruit of His Spirit and gifts from His hand. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. That fear and torment you feel is not from Him. Jesus Himself said in John 14:27 Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. This is the peace He wants to take over your heart, a peace that does not depend on circumstances.
We also hear how this has impacted your relationships and daily life, and we understand how exhausting it is when the heart has no rest. God invites you to cast that weight on Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. And Philippians 4:6-7 gives us this promise In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. That guarding peace is what we are asking God to pour over you.
We encourage you to keep your mind stayed on Him daily, even moment by moment. Isaiah 26:3 says You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you. This means continually renewing your mind with His word, speaking scripture aloud against the attacks, praying without ceasing, and staying in fellowship with other believers who can stand with you. When the attack comes, speak the truth that 1 John 4:4 declares You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. Nothing you face can separate you from His love, as Romans 8:38-39 assures us.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear believer to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the more than ten years of struggling, the every second battle for peace and joy, and You know how weary this heart has become. We ask in Jesus name that You would break every spiritual attack that has come against Your child. We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus. Fill this heart with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding and guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Restore joy, Lord, let Your joy be strength. Renew this mind and keep it steadfast on You. Heal the relationships and daily life that have been influenced by this long struggle, and let Your healing and restoration flow. Teach us to put on the full armor of God daily and to walk in power, love and self-control. We thank You that You care deeply and that You are faithful to complete the work You began. Let peace and joy take over this heart fully, for Your glory. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
