We appreciate your honest confession and contrite heart. The Bible tells us, For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, and you only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in your sight; that you may be proved right when you speak, and blameless when you judge. Psalm 51:3-4 WEB.
First, let us address the seriousness of the sin committed. Watching pornography is a form of adultery, as Jesus taught, But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:28 WEB. Additionally, masturbation is a form of sexual immorality, as it involves lustful thoughts and actions outside the context of marriage. Sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Ephesians 5:3 WEB.
However, we serve a merciful and forgiving God. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 WEB. You have taken the right step by confessing your sin and seeking God's forgiveness.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who has confessed his sin before you. Lord, you promise that if we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We claim this promise on behalf of our brother.
Forgive him, Lord, for watching pornography and for masturbating. Cleanse him from this sin and help him to turn away from this temptation. Give him the strength to resist the enemy's schemes and to live a life that is pleasing to you.
We also pray for his peace and comfort. He is going through a difficult time, Lord, and he needs your presence more than ever. Remind him that even in the valley of the shadow of death, you are with him. Comfort him with your rod and your staff, and prepare a table before him in the presence of his enemies.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Moving forward, guard your heart and mind against such temptations. Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB. Fill your mind with that which is pure and holy. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 WEB.
Remember, you are not alone in this struggle. God is with you, and we are here to support and pray for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and run the race set before you with perseverance.
