My mom is ### years old and has hypertension, but it is manageable because of maintenance medication. But today, she had a possible acid reflux attack after eating. She had pain between her breastbone and stomach and vomited, so we made her drink Gaviscon. She felt okay after vomiting and drinking the medication. But I am still worried about her. Hospital bills are expensive in my country, but I pray the Lord will intervene and touch her body to heal her completely. I believe that when Jesus died on the cross, He crucified our sicknesses with Him. Thank you for praying!

We join you in lifting up your precious mother before the throne of grace and we thank you for your faith in what Jesus accomplished on the cross for our healing and salvation.

We hear your worry and your love for her, and we share your gratitude that she felt better after vomiting and taking the medication, yet we understand the lingering concern especially with her hypertension and the pain she felt between her breastbone and stomach. We commend you for trusting the Lord as your healer while also being a good steward of the body He has given her.

The Word reminds us that the Lord is our healer, for it is written He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases in Psalm 103:3 and I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh in Jeremiah 30:17. We cling to the truth that He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was on Him, and with His stripes we are healed in Isaiah 53:5, and that He Himself took our infirmities and bore our diseases in Matthew 8:17. This is the foundation of your faith that Jesus carried our sicknesses, and we agree with you in that faith for her complete healing.

We also want to encourage you with wisdom and peace. The Lord calls us not to be anxious but to bring everything to Him in prayer, as it says in Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And we are told to cast all our worries on Him, because He cares for you in 1 Peter 5:7. He cares about your mother's body, He cares about your worry, and He cares about the burden of hospital bills. We trust Him to provide for all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus as promised in Philippians 4:19.

We gently encourage you to continue to be watchful over her health. Because she has hypertension and had pain in the chest area, even if it seems like acid reflux, we encourage you to monitor her closely and not hesitate to seek medical evaluation if the pain returns, worsens, or is accompanied by other symptoms, for the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and we honor God by caring for it well. Continue her maintenance medication faithfully, help her with gentle dietary wisdom such as smaller meals, avoiding very spicy, fatty, or acidic foods, not lying down immediately after eating, and staying hydrated, and keep a record of any episodes to share with her doctor when possible. We pray that God will give you wisdom and guide any physicians who may care for her.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer. We thank You for Your love and mercy toward this dear mother and this family. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon her body. Touch her stomach and digestive system, calm any inflammation and reflux, regulate her blood pressure, and restore her strength completely. We rebuke any infirmity and ask for Your healing virtue to flow through her. Grant her restful sleep, comfortable digestion, and renewed health. We pray for peace to guard this child's heart, removing fear and worry and replacing it with confident trust in You. Provide for every financial need and make a way where there seems to be no way for medical care if it is needed, for You are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals us in Exodus 15:26. We ask that You help this family to walk in health, wisdom, and obedience to You all the days of their lives. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved and by which we have access to Your throne. We receive Your healing and Your peace by faith. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We can hear how much you love your mom and how unsettling today was for you. Watching her have pain and vomiting, even though she felt better after, would leave anyone feeling on edge, especially when you are also carrying the weight of her ongoing hypertension and the worry about hospital costs. It makes sense you are still concerned.

We are grateful she has maintenance medication that has been helping, and that she had some relief today. Alongside praying, we gently encourage you to reach out to her regular doctor or a local clinic soon to let them know exactly what happened, when it happened, and what you have observed. They are in the best position to advise you on next steps and to give you peace of mind about how to care for her going forward. You do not have to carry the question of what to do next alone.

We are joining you in asking the Lord to be near to both of you right now, to give you wisdom and provision, and to bring comfort to your mom in body and spirit. We trust Him with her healing and with your worries.

Father, we lift this dear mom to You and ask for Your mercy and care over her. You see her hypertension and the distress she had today, and You see her child's love and concern. Please give wisdom to any clinicians who care for her, provide for what the family needs, and grant her rest and strength. Let her feel Your presence and peace in the days ahead. Your earnest prayer for your mother has been heard, and we join you in bringing her before the throne of grace with thankfulness and tender concern.

Do not be so affected by these outward trials as to get into a state of worry and distress. Our Saviour has said, do not be anxious about your temporal affairs. Be prudent and use the means which Providence has placed in your hands, and then cast your care upon Him who cares for you. Anxiety has never comforted any heart, nor has it ever brought meal to the barrel. Indeed, the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Your mother has been spared through this attack, and for that we give thanks, yet your heart remains fearful about what may come and about the cost of care in your country. The Lord knows your need and He knows her frame. He sees the hypertension which requires daily maintenance, and the pain between breastbone and stomach and the vomiting which so alarmed you. Nothing is hidden from His eye, and no sigh is lost upon His ear.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His very touch brings virtue to the sick, for the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. When He healed the palsied man He first said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, to show that pardon and healing are in happy conjunction. All healing, whether of body or of soul, flows from Calvary, where He bore our infirmities and carried our sorrows. We do not claim that every sickness is removed at once in this life, for the Lord in wisdom often leaves some infirmity for our good and His glory, yet we know that His salvation will perfectly heal our bodies at the last, and even now His healing virtue works in us by His grace. Yonder in heaven those faces which shine so bright owe their freshness to these healing leaves, and while we are below we may come to the great Physician who has never cast out one who came to Him in faith.

Continue, then, in prudent care. Give thanks that maintenance medication has kept her hypertension manageable, and that the Gaviscon gave relief after her vomiting. These are mercies to be received with gratitude as instruments in the hand of God. Watch her closely in the coming days, keep her to plain and wholesome food, and seek godly medical counsel promptly if pain or vomiting should return or worsen, for the Lord often heals by means and it is wise not to neglect them. At the same time, keep your heart from fretting about bills and future fears, for your heavenly Father knows what you have need of before you ask Him.

Let us pray together. O gracious Father, we thank You for sparing this dear mother and for the relief You have already granted. We ask You to lay Your hand upon her and touch her body. Calm the irritation within her stomach, steady her blood pressure, and strengthen her frame according to Your perfect will. Provide for this family in temporal things, and keep them from anxious care by giving them to rest in Your providence. Above all, grant to mother and child the full assurance of pardon through the blood of Jesus, that whether in health or sickness they may know that they are Yours and that nothing shall separate them from Your love. Cause Your healing virtue to work in her for Your glory, and make her yet to praise You in the land of the living. Hear us for Jesus sake. Amen.
