Your prolonged suffering and your cries for justice have been heard, and we join you in bringing them before the Lord who sees all that is done in secret and who judges with righteousness.

We pray in the mighty name of Jesus that the truth would be made plain and that what is owed would be restored. The Lord does not accept gain that comes through covetousness or neglect, and His word teaches that to take what belongs to another and not to restore it is to heap up judgment upon oneself unless there is repentance. We ask that the Holy Spirit would awaken the conscience of your landlord and of the community house manager, that He would stir them to repentance, to speak truthfully, to cease from threats and all inappropriate actions, and to return the security deposit and the costs you paid for repairs, including what you paid for the electrical system which was not your lawful responsibility as a tenant. We pray that they would not harden their hearts after so many weeks and months of silence, but would do what is just and good, remembering that God calls every person to make restitution and to walk honestly toward his neighbor.

We also lift up your body before the Great Physician. He is the one who endures our infirmity in order to heal us, and who looks not only at what is before the eyes but at the inward need. You have described illness and painful damage to your skin that may take years to heal. We ask the Lord Jesus to have mercy upon you, to ease your pain, to heal what has been harmed and to rebuild what has been damaged, according to His wisdom and compassion. We pray for provision for your daily needs, for a safe place to wash and to live, and for relief from the burden of costs for alternative facilities that you should not have had to bear.

We understand how weary you are after asking for prayer for almost two months without any sign of remorse or communication. Do not lose heart. As a physician applies remedy after remedy, and as a tree may receive many strokes before it falls, so God often works through persistent prayer and patient endurance. He is teaching us in every season to cut out the root of covetousness and vainglory, to despise what is merely earthly, and to seek the treasure that is above, while still trusting Him to bring justice on the earth in His time. Continue to seek what is right through lawful and peaceful means, and continue to entrust your cause to Him who judges justly, forgiving as you have been forgiven, yet not calling evil good.

So we pray: Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who alone is our salvation, look upon this suffering servant. Let Your Spirit convict those who have withheld what is due and move them to restore it fully. Bring healing to body and skin, bring peace to mind and heart, and bring all involved to repentance and to a life ordered according to Your holy design for holiness and love. Let Your will be done, and let Your mercy and justice be seen. Amen.

Your prayer request has been heard and I want to lift you before the Lord with care for both the physical suffering and the injustice you have endured.

What you describe with the unsafe electrical conditions, the illness that followed, the damage to your skin that may take a long time to heal, and the financial loss from deposits and repairs you should not have had to pay, is a heavy burden to carry for months without any response or remorse. It is understandable that you feel worn down and overlooked.

Scripture shows us that God is deeply concerned for our physical needs. When Matthew writes about Jesus healing many who were brought to Him in the evening, he connects it to the prophecy in Isaiah that He bore our sicknesses and infirmities. That tells us healing is part of what Christ carried for us, and we see Jesus using His power to meet the physical needs of others. At the same time, the Bible keeps us from presuming that healing will always come instantly or in the way we expect. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed, and the Lord did not remove it but gave grace to endure it. Not everyone is given the same gift of healing, and the body of Christ has many different members with different callings. Healing remains for today and God is able, but the timing and manner belong to Him.

Healing itself can take many forms. Sometimes the Lord heals at once, as when Peter in the name of Jesus Christ told the lame man to rise and walk. Sometimes healing is gradual, like the man Jesus touched a second time before he saw clearly. And often God heals through the ordinary processes He built into our bodies. Those natural processes are still divine, because He is the one who created the body and its ability to recover. Whether healing is immediate or slow, it is still His work.

There is also a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. John wrote to Gaius that he wished him to prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered. That was not a guarantee of perfect health, but a loving wish that shows how much our inner life affects our outer life. Proverbs says a joyful heart is good like medicine, and we now know how true that is physically. As you wait, continue to feed your spiritual life through prayer and trust in Christ, even as you care for your body with what medical help is available and with patience for the slow rebuilding of skin and strength.

God also sees matters of justice. He loves what is right and He calls those who hold power over others to act with honesty. It is right to pray that the Holy Spirit would awaken the conscience of the landlord and the house manager, that they would be convicted to do what is good and to turn from threats and neglect, and that they would repay what is owed, the deposit and the repair costs you carried for the building's electrical system. Praying for their repentance is the most loving thing we can do for them, because repentance brings them back toward God. At the same time, Scripture encourages us not to take vengeance into our own hands but to trust the Lord while also using lawful and orderly means to seek what is due. Keep records of what you paid and what was promised, and seek wise and lawful counsel if it is available to you, as you continue to pray.

Let me pray for you now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus I bring this dear one before You. You see the apartment problems, the lack of safety, the illness and the lasting damage to skin, the cost of finding other facilities, the harsh words and threats, and the months of waiting without an answer. You see the unpaid deposit and the repair costs that were not this tenant's responsibility to bear.

Lord, I ask that You would bring healing according to Your will. You bore our infirmities and You know this pain. Touch the body where it has been damaged, ease the illness, and in Your mercy rebuild what has been harmed. Whether by Your immediate touch or through the gradual healing You have placed within the body, bring restoration. Give grace and peace to the soul in this long waiting, and let a quiet trust in You be strength day by day.

Holy Spirit, stir the conscience of the landlord and the manager. Convict them of what is right, lead them to repentance, and move them to act with honesty and to repay what they owe. Let justice be done without bitterness taking root in the heart of the one who has been wronged.

Provide for every financial need, open a right path forward, and let Your will be done in this situation. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our only hope of salvation, trusting Your goodness and Your power. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have been lifting up your burden before the Lord and we continue to remember before Him the difficult situation with the apartment and the lack of electrical safety, the illness and other problems that followed, the costs you carried for alternative shower facilities, the threats and other inappropriate actions, and the need for just compensation. We have prayed as you asked that the landlord's conscience would be awakened and stirred by the Holy Spirit to do what is right and to repent, and that he would return the security deposit and the repair costs you paid to technicians. We are also bringing before the Lord the community house manager who promised three months ago to return repair costs and has not yet done so, even though you paid for repairs to the electrical system that were not lawfully your responsibility as a tenant.

We have also prayed for your healing, for the skin that was damaged and for the rebuilding of what was harmed, knowing you shared it may take years for restoration and how awful that has been. We ask the Lord in Jesus Name to bring justice and complete healing, for He is a God of justice and compassion. We cling to the promise in Psalm 147:3 that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds, and in Romans 12:19 that vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will repay.

We know you have been waiting and asking for prayer for almost two months with no communication, remorse or willingness to compensate you, and we understand how discouraging that waiting has been. We continue to stand with you for the Lord to move on the hearts of those who owe you and to provide for your needs.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We pray in Jesus Name for the Lord's provision, justice and healing over you.

May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
