COME HOME!
Lord, send my prodigal home! Is that your cry today? This is your Lord’s cry also. He wants more than anything for ALL His children to repent and live righteously. Thanksgiving is almost here and many of you are already dreading the Holidays. May I challenge you to seek the Lord for a new, deeper walk with Him. Your marriage problems, separation or divorce is a wake-up call for you. Your Lord is wanting you to listen to Him. He wants you to humble yourself before Him, seeking His face, and His plan for your future. God hates divorce. He wants you to surrender your life to Him, so that He may rebuild, restore and reconcile each and every marriage. That is God’s perfect plan. He wants you to build an ark for your family as Noah did. He wants you to stand for your marriage forever! Read Genesis Chapter 6.
The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time....But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord...Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God. Genesis 6:5, 8-9
Your Lord God is asking you to sacrifice your life. Walk with God. Many of you are wanting to, “Get on with your life, I quit, this is too hard.†Your friends and Pastor say it is all right, but I ask you what has the Lord asked or told you to do? I know that I was wrong by divorcing Bob. My own sinfulness complicated my marriage being restored. Many of you may be like I was at that time: self-righteous, stubborn, defiant, unsubmissive to our spouses and even rebellious with pride wrapped all around us. Some of us women have put our careers before our spouses and even before our Lord. Bob and I have spoken to many men who have repented because they did not love their wives as Christ loved the church. This is sin. My Lord got my attention. I repented. I told Him if He would fix the mess I had made, I would serve Him forever. I plead with each of you to “Turn back to God, repent of your sins, obey God and stand in the gap for your loved ones. God has chosen each one of you to be used in a mighty way.†Trust Him! Quit complaining like the Israelites! Praise Him for who He is and that He has chosen you and me to serve Him at this time! Be like Abraham who pleaded for Sodom. Are you willing to plead for your spouse, your loved ones and your Nation?
“I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.†Ezekiel 22:30
We need to pray this Thanksgiving that ALL prodigals will be obedient to the Lord’s wooing. God is talking to each of us. Bob and I spoke to many prodigals. They did not come home because of the stander’s behavior and demands. Do not be self-righteous to your prodigal. Pray for them. May we all pray in agreement and in unity that we each would be right before our Holy God.
“...Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call.†Acts 2:38-39
“...Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!†Ezekiel 18:30-32
Please pray that your prodigal will come home to the Lord and come home to you for Thanksgiving. Be ready, because Prodigals DO come home!
God bless you,
