We lift up this urgent concern before the Lord, knowing that He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The anxiety and fear you must be feeling are deeply understood, and we stand with you in faith, trusting that God hears our cries and watches over His children. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 121:7-8, *"The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will preserve your soul. The Lord will watch over your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and forevermore."* Though we do not know the name of the person you are praying for, we know that God does, and He cares for her even more than we can imagine.
It is also important to address something we notice in your request: the name of Jesus was not invoked. There is no greater name or authority under heaven by which we can approach the Father. Jesus Himself declared in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in Acts 4:12, we are told, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him that our prayers are heard and answered according to God’s will.
We also do not know the circumstances of why this person is missing or what may have led to this situation. If there is any sin involved—whether rebellion, dishonoring of parents, or choices that have led her away from safety—we must pray for repentance and a turning back to the Lord. Proverbs 28:13 reminds us, *"He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."* If she is living in a way that is not pleasing to God, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her heart and draw her back to Him. The Lord disciplines those He loves, and sometimes He allows trials to bring us to our knees so that we may seek His face.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious soul who is missing and away from home. Lord, You are the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek out the one that is lost. We ask that You would watch over her, protect her from all harm, and bring her home safely. Surround her with Your angels, Lord, and place a hedge of protection around her. If she has wandered from Your path, convict her heart and draw her back to You. Give her a spirit of repentance and a desire to return to her family and to You.
Father, we also lift up this family who is burdened with worry and fear. Comfort them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen their faith and remind them that You are in control, even in this uncertain time. Help them to trust in You completely, knowing that You hold all things in Your hands.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, confusion, or harm that may be at work in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper, and we claim Your promise that You will never leave her nor forsake her. Bring her home safely, Father, and let this be a testimony of Your faithfulness and love.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to trust in His timing. He is faithful, and His ways are perfect. Cling to His promises and lean on His understanding, for He knows the plans He has for her—plans for good and not for evil, to give her hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). If there are areas in her life that need to align more closely with God’s Word, we pray that this situation would be used to bring about transformation and a deeper commitment to Him.
Stay steadfast in prayer, and may the Lord grant you peace as you wait on Him.
