Clarity

Beloved of All
I wish I had clarity about this woman I really want to get to know. I'm practicing patience and just letting things unfold if they naturally do. If she liked me wouldn't she pursue hanging out with me or clearly send a signal? Why am I so caught up on her.. In Jesus's name make things so obvious. I would like peace of mind as I can't seem to go on dates or take anyone seriously. I compare them to this woman who I feel has the qualities I'd like to explore in a partner.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in bringing this before the Lord and we understand how heavy it can feel to be caught up on one woman while desiring clarity and peace of mind. It is good that you are practicing patience and wanting things to unfold naturally, for patience is a fruit of the Spirit, but we also want to encourage you toward biblical wisdom and action rather than anxious waiting for a hidden signal.

Scripture teaches us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding, and in all our ways acknowledge him and he will direct our paths, Proverbs 3:5-6. If you lack wisdom and clarity, God invites you to ask him directly, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5. And when we bring our anxieties to him in prayer, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.

We want to gently correct a couple of thoughts in your request. You ask if she liked you wouldn't she pursue hanging out with you or clearly send a signal. Biblically it is the man who is called to pursue in a respectful and intentional way, not to sit back and wait for the woman to chase him. He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh, Proverbs 18:22. That finding implies seeking, leading, and initiating with clarity and honor. A godly woman will respond, but she is not called to pursue the man. If you feel strongly that this woman has the qualities you desire in a wife, then prayerfully and respectfully initiating a clear conversation or inviting her to spend time in a proper, public, godly context is more honoring than waiting for her to make it obvious for you. God often gives clarity through our obedient steps, not just through signs.

We also notice you mention you cannot take anyone else seriously and you compare them to this woman, and that you are so caught up on her that you lack peace. We encourage you to guard your heart, for out of it are the issues of life, Proverbs 4:23. When one person occupies our thoughts to the point of restlessness and comparison, we can unintentionally make her an idol in our heart. We are called to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33, and to delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart, Psalm 37:4. A godly marriage between a man and a woman is a wonderful gift, but our peace must come from Christ first, not from whether this particular woman reciprocates.

We also want to affirm your desire for a partner but to point you to God's higher calling. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and we encourage you to see dating not as casual hanging out or pursuing a partner, but as courtship with the goal of discerning marriage to another Christian believer. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14, so as you get to know her, seek to know whether she loves the Lord Jesus and walks with him. And if the Lord does open a door for courtship, keep it pure and above reproach, for God calls us to flee fornication and to honor him with our bodies, as any sexual intimacy outside of marriage is not God's will for you.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son, through whom we have access to your throne of grace. We lift up our brother to you who is seeking clarity, wisdom, and peace. Lord, calm his heart and quiet his anxious thoughts. Grant him your wisdom liberally as he asks, and make your will known to him. If this woman is a godly woman who would be a suitable wife and helpmate for him, and if it is your will for them to get to know each other for the purpose of marriage, we ask that you open that door clearly and give him courage to lead with kindness, respect, and purity. If she is not the one you have for him, we ask that you close the door gently, remove the fixation, heal any comparison in his heart, and give him peace to move forward and to see other godly women without comparison. Help him to guard his heart, to seek you first, and to trust your timing. Lead him to a godly marriage that honors you, and keep his courtship pure and Christ centered. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue in prayer, stay rooted in the Word, seek counsel from mature believers who know you both, and if you sense the Lord leading you, take a respectful, clear step to get to know her in community rather than waiting indefinitely for a signal. Whether the answer is yes or no, God is faithful to give you peace as you trust him.

We hear how tiring this has been for you, wanting to honor patience while also just wanting clarity so you can have peace and move forward.

That stuck feeling you describe makes a lot of sense. When someone stands out to us, it's natural to build an idea of who they are around the qualities we admire, and then every other person feels like a comparison. And trying to read signals alone can keep your mind spinning, because people show interest in such different ways. Her not pursuing doesn't automatically mean disinterest, and your interest doesn't automatically mean she feels the same, often we just don't know until there is a simple, kind conversation.

Since peace of mind is what you named as most needed, one gentle next step we have found helpful is to move from guessing to a small, clear action if you have appropriate access to her. Not a big declaration, but a brief, respectful invitation to get to know her a little better in a normal context, coffee after church, a group hang, a short conversation where you can learn more about her as a whole person. That can give you real information instead of more wondering. Talking it through with a trusted, level-headed friend or pastor who knows you both can also help you see more clearly and stay grounded.

We are praying for you as you navigate this.

Father, we bring our brother to You and ask for Your calm over his mind. Give him wisdom to act with kindness and respect, eyes to see this woman and others as they truly are, and peace as he trusts You with what unfolds. Lead him step by step in Jesus' name, amen.

There is an honesty in your prayer which the Lord will not despise, a longing for clarity and for peace of mind while you wait upon His providence concerning this woman.

You speak of being caught up, of comparing others to her, of wanting a signal so obvious that doubt would be removed. It is well to bring such restlessness to the God of peace, for He is not only the God who created peace originally but the God who restores it when it has been broken and who preserves it when it is made. True peace is first peace with God through the blood of the everlasting covenant, through the atoning sacrifice of Christ who is our Peace. A man conscious of being forgiven may then know a consequent peace in the little kingdom within, a peace which keeps the heart and mind and which passes all understanding. That peace is not found in a sign from another person, however desirable, but in a mind stayed upon God because it trusts in Him. He will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You.

You say you are practicing patience and letting things unfold. This is a grace to be cultivated, for our God is a waiting God who waits that He might be gracious. His patience signifies not only delay but the continuance of privilege and mercy toward us while He forms His purposes. And we in turn are called to be a waiting people, to wait only upon God. They that wait upon the Lord shall not want any good thing. The love of God shines best in the patience of Christ, and we are directed to enter into that patience, to pray for grace to say, Let Him do what seems Him good, though it be for months or for years. Christ is glorified by our patience.

Do not, therefore, make this one hope the measure of all peace. When the heart is set upon one person as the source of rest, every other prospect will seem dim and every delay will become torment. False peace is stupefying, but the peace of God is solid and abiding because it is founded on eternal truth. Taste and see that the peace of God is good, and you will find strength to be quiet and cheerful even while duties press and desires remain unfulfilled.

Seek the Lord first for wisdom and for a clean heart before Him. Bring your desire for this woman before Him in simple prayer, asking not merely for a signal according to your wish, but for His will to be made plain in His time and way. If it is of the Lord that you should know her more, He is able to open a door which no man can shut, and to do so in a manner consistent with modesty and godliness. A godly man pursues with honor and clarity, not with manipulation, and a godly woman answers in due season, yet neither should be pressed to act from restlessness. Take counsel with mature believers who know you both, guard your thoughts from comparison and from an idealized image, and keep yourself from that which belongs only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman.

May the God of peace Himself, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus through the blood of the everlasting covenant, keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus, and grant you that perfect peace which comes from trusting Him. We pray that He will give you clarity to see His path, patience to wait upon Him, and contentment to do His will whether the answer be to go forward or to be still, and that you may find your rest not in the unfolding of any earthly prospect but in Christ Himself.

Your desire for clarity and peace of mind is understandable, and it is good that you bring it before the Lord and want to practice patience rather than forcing something to happen.

The peace Jesus gives is not the same as getting the answer we want from our circumstances. He said He gives a peace that the world cannot give, a peace that comes from being at peace with Him. That peace remains even when outward things are uncertain, and it comes when we set our minds on heavenly things and on pleasing Him, not only on whether another person returns our interest. The world cannot receive that peace because it looks for peace only in outcomes, but the believer can have it by trusting Christ and walking with Him.

Scripture also teaches that patience and hope grow together through the Word of God. As you stay rooted in the Scriptures, God steadies your heart, forms patience in you, and that patience strengthens hope. This is why waiting is not passive. It is an active time to be spiritually minded, which Scripture says brings life and peace, rather than letting the mind be consumed by one desire. When a single person begins to fill every thought and becomes the measure for everyone else, the heart can become fixed in a way that robs peace and makes it hard to see others clearly or to hear God clearly.

On the practical side, clarity often does not come from trying to decode signals alone. If you have a sincere interest in getting to know this woman in a way that honors God and respects her, it is wise and kind to take a clear but gentle step rather than waiting indefinitely for an obvious sign. A simple, respectful invitation to talk or spend time together in a proper setting, with no pressure, allows both of you to discern. Her response, whether interest or not, will give you more clarity than continued wondering. If she does not show interest, that itself is an answer to receive with grace. If she does, you can get to know one another slowly and wisely, with counsel from trusted believers and with purity and respect.

It will also help to ask the Lord to free you from comparison. Every person you meet is made in God's image and deserves to be seen for who they are, not only in contrast to one person you admire. Ask God to help you see others fairly, and to guard your heart from making any one person into the source of your joy or peace. The qualities you admire in her may be good desires for a future wife, but bring those desires to God and ask Him to shape them according to His will for a lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, entered into with commitment and faithfulness.

Pray with me. Father, in Jesus name I ask You to give this brother a spiritually minded heart and the peace that comes from being near to Christ. Grant him patience through Your Word and hope that does not waver. Give him wisdom to act with clarity, humility and respect, to speak plainly when it is right and to accept Your answer with trust. Guard his mind from restlessness and comparison, and help him to seek first Your kingdom. If it is Your will for him to know this woman more deeply, open that door in a clear and honorable way, and if not, give him freedom and peace to move forward. Make his conscience pure and his heart at rest in You, so that whatever happens he may live in peace and Your love may be with him. Amen.
