Silas
Beloved of All
Your longing for clarity and for a quiet mind is heard, and it is right to bring it directly to the Lord. The desire to have your mind, heart and soul aligned with His will in love, friendships, family and every part of life is exactly where He wants you.
True peace begins with peace with God. That peace has been made possible through the blood of Jesus shed for the forgiveness of sins. When we stop resisting His ways and submit to Him, trusting Christ alone for salvation, we are no longer separated from Him. From that foundation, He gives His own peace within.
Scripture says God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. The apostle Peter speaks of a peace that goes beyond human understanding, a peace the world cannot explain but that belongs to those who are in Christ. It is a complete peace that comes from knowing He will take care of what concerns you, even when problems arise and answers are not yet clear.
God's thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. He has not forgotten you. He invites you to call upon Him and to pray to Him, and He promises to listen. As you choose what pleases Him and lay hold of His covenant, walking uprightly before Him, you find rest. Without Him there is no lasting peace, only restlessness like a troubled sea. But when you turn your life over to Jesus and receive His forgiveness and healing, He creates peace, to those near and to those far off.
So keep your mind stayed on Him and keep your trust in Him. Bring every question about relationships and decisions before Him without fear, willing to receive whatever answer He gives, because His answer will be right and good. He is working in you both to will and to do what pleases Him, and He has ordained peace for you.
I pray that the Lord will make His will crystal clear to you in His perfect timing, whether gradually or suddenly as you asked, and that He will guard your heart with His peace as you wait. May He align your thoughts, affections and desires with His own, so that what you want is what He wants for you, and may you walk in that peace with confidence that He is caring for you and will do what is right and fair.
