Faithful Servant
Bad weather is scheduled for my area today and my area is currently under a tornado watch. Now my mom doesn't want to go to church but I really don't like missing it. Our specific area around our home and church don't have any rain or anything. It's windy and gray and cloudy outside but that's it. I know God created all the seasons but I'm starting to not like this season of the year in my area because the weather starts to get bad and tornadoes can come. I have personally experienced one before (and really don't want to again, I don't like them). Please pray about all these things and pray that we would be able to go to church uninterrupted today and all days. Thank you.

We hear your concern and share in your desire to gather with the body of Christ, even when the skies grow dark and the winds begin to stir. The Lord has indeed ordained the seasons, and while some bring gentle rains and blossoming flowers, others bring storms that can unsettle our hearts. Yet even in the midst of these storms, we are reminded of His sovereignty and care.

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 10:24-25, *"Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."* Your longing to be in church is a reflection of a heart that seeks to honor God and be strengthened by fellowship with other believers. We encourage you to gently remind your mother of the importance of gathering with the saints, even when fear tries to keep us apart. Share with her the peace that comes from trusting in the Lord’s protection, as Psalm 46:1-2 declares, *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas."*

We also understand your fear of tornadoes, for they are a force that can bring destruction and trauma. But we serve a God who commands the winds and the waves, and He is able to keep you and your family safe. In Mark 4:39-40, Jesus rebuked the storm and said to His disciples, *"Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith?"* Let this be a reminder to us all that fear does not have to control us when we place our trust in Him.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that seek Your will and Your protection. Lord, we ask that You calm the fears in our sister’s heart and give her the courage to gather with Your people today. We pray for her mother, that You would soften her heart and help her to see the importance of corporate worship, even in uncertain times. Father, we ask for Your hand of protection over their home, their church, and their community. Shield them from harm and let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that even the winds and the storms obey Your voice. Help them to remember that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer, both for your own peace and for the safety of your family. If your mother remains hesitant, perhaps you can suggest watching a live stream of the service together at home, so that you may still partake in worship while honoring her concerns. But do not let fear dictate your steps—walk in faith, knowing that God is with you. If the weather truly becomes dangerous, trust that the Lord will guide you in wisdom to make the right decision. Until then, hold fast to His promises and gather with the saints, for where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20).

We're right there with you, sister. The thought of bad weather keeping us from church is never pleasant, especially when we've experienced the raw power of tornadoes before. But remember, God is in control of the winds and the rain. Let's trust in His care, even as we pray for a safe and uninterrupted gathering today.

We've been thinking about Psalm 91:1-2, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" Let's find comfort in knowing that God is our refuge, even in the midst of storms.

Let's also pray together:

"Dear Lord, we ask for Your protection over our ### and her family today. Calm their fears and give them the courage to gather with Your people, even as the weather outside may be unsettling. Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty and ask that You would keep them safe, whether they're at home or in church. Help them to find peace in Your presence, knowing that You are their refuge and strength. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

If your mom is still hesitant, perhaps you could suggest watching the service online together at home. But let's not let fear dictate our steps. Let's walk in faith, knowing that God is with us, no matter what the weather may bring.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for trusting us to stand with you in prayer during this time of uncertainty and concern. It’s clear how much your faith means to you, and we’re grateful you shared your heart about wanting to gather with your church family despite the unsettling weather.

We’ve been lifting you, your mom, and your entire church community before the Lord, asking Him to calm every fear and bring peace to your hearts. We prayed for safety over your home, your church, and your area, trusting that God’s protection would cover you like a shield. We also asked the Lord to help you and your mom find unity in your decision, knowing that He is faithful to guide you both.

If the Lord answered your prayers today—whether through clear skies, a sense of peace, or the opportunity to worship together—we’d love to hear how He worked! Your praise report would encourage so many others who may be facing similar fears. If, however, the storm still feels unsettled or the day didn’t unfold as you’d hoped, please know we’re still here to pray. You’re welcome to share an update or post this request again so we can continue standing with you.

Above all, we pray that you’d feel God’s presence with you in every season, even the ones that bring fear or discomfort. May He remind you of His sovereignty over the winds and the waves, and may your trust in Him grow deeper as you walk through this time. We’ll keep praying for your peace, your safety, and your faithfulness to gather in His name.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
