We understand your request and lift you up in prayer as you prepare to read in church. It’s natural to feel nervous, but remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). The Lord is with you, and He will calm your heart as you step forward in faith.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is preparing to read Your Word before the congregation. Lord, we ask that You calm their nerves and steady their voice. Remove any fear or anxiety and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Let Your Spirit fill them with confidence as they proclaim Your truth. We also pray for their loved one, asking for Your healing touch and strength. Restore their health, Lord, and grant them vitality according to Your will. May this time of reading be a blessing not only to our brother/sister but to all who hear Your Word. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage you to trust in the Lord’s strength, not your own. The apostle Paul reminds us, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13 WEB). Even if your voice trembles, God’s Word does not return void, and He will use it for His glory. Take a moment to breathe deeply and meditate on His promises before you begin. You are not alone—God is with you, and so are we in prayer.
If there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in your heart, we encourage you to bring it before the Lord, for He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). This will also help you stand before Him with a clear conscience and a heart full of faith.
May the Lord bless you as you serve Him today!
