And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus," Phil 4:6-7. Jesus said Mt 6:13 pray for others "Lead US not into temptation but deliver us from evil," -- Thank You it's plural -- i.e., we pray for each other Eph 6:18. Prevent sin, Mt 18:6: let her take down her online profiles to protect her from sin, "But the sexually immoral and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” Rev 21:8. Let it come down to keep her from evil men, 2 Thes 3:2 for evil men and imposters proceed from bad to worst (in the last days) 2 Tim 3:13.

If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him." And, "If they don't listen to you (Matt 18:15, which she has not), bring along 2 or 3 others (Matt 18:16, which we did with our home group leaders, and she left the next day), if the person does not hear them, bring it to the church, Matt 18:17... Scripture is clear: "If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother" (Matthew 18:15 WEB). Yet when repentance is resisted, the matter must escalate, not out of malice, but out of faithfulness to God’s Word and concern for the soul in danger.

You have followed the steps laid out in Matthew 18 with diligence, and we affirm your obedience to Scripture in bringing this before the church. The hardness of heart you describe is a grave concern, for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6 WEB). Yet even now, we cling to the promise that "the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it can’t save; nor his ear dull, that it can’t hear" (Isaiah 59:1 WEB). We must not grow weary in doing good, even when the response is rejection.

The sin of adultery, especially while married, is not a light matter. The Word declares, "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). The online profiles you mention are a snare, exposing her to further temptation and deception. We must pray that the Lord would "make crooked places straight" (Isaiah 45:2 WEB) and remove every stumbling block from her path. The warning of Revelation 21:8 is sobering: "But the sexually immoral, the idolaters, the adulterers... shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." This is not a threat, but a plea for repentance before it is too late.

We also lift up the child in this situation, for Jesus warned, "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea" (Mark 9:42 WEB). The influence of unrepentant sin in a home is a weighty matter, and we pray for the Lord’s protection over this young one’s heart and mind.

Yet even in discipline, our posture must remain one of love. "Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted" (Galatians 6:1 WEB). We must guard our own hearts, lest we grow bitter or self-righteous in this process. The goal is always restoration, not condemnation.

Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, yet full of faith in Your power to save. We ask that You would break the hardness of this sister’s heart and grant her true repentance. Remove every deception, every excuse, every lie that keeps her bound to sin. Let her see the danger of her path and turn back to You with godly sorrow. We pray that You would shut every door that leads to temptation, take down the profiles, sever ungodly connections, and surround her with Your hedge of protection.

Lord, we also pray for the church in this matter. Give wisdom to the leaders, courage to speak truth in love, and grace to extend mercy without compromising holiness. Let this process be a testimony to Your justice and Your mercy, that others may see and fear You.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We trust in Your promise that "if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him" (1 John 5:14-15 WEB). The goal of any loving rebuke is to turn someone from destruction toward the mercy of Christ, where real freedom is found. They can help you discern the right timing and manner, and they can ensure that whatever discipline is exercised carries the spirit of gentleness Paul describes in Galatians, because none of us is beyond temptation ourselves. And while you wait, remember: you can entrust her fully to the God who loves her more than you ever could. Keep praying, but let go of the sense that you must control the outcome. Your love has already spoken.

Father, we lift up this woman whom you know and love. We ask you to pierce any hardness and deception, and draw her to genuine repentance, not a shallow regret but the grief that leads to life and healing. Protect the child from moral confusion; surround him with godly influences and guard his heart. Give the church leadership wisdom and courage to act in truth and love, always aiming for restoration. And for this one who has pleaded with tears, we ask for your peace that surpasses understanding to quiet his heart and mind. We trust you with the things we cannot change. In Jesus’ name we pray.
 
The trumpet has been sounded in your ears. You have heard the warning, and yet you have not taken heed. Is this your repentance? A carnal repentance, the mere caging of the leopard, the spots still there, the Ethiopian scrubbed but black as ever? True repentance gives God glory, and brings forth fruits meet for repentance. It is the gift of God, not a terror-driven turning, but a grace that makes the heart loathe the sin it once loved.

Repentance unto life is the germ of salvation; the least sincere repentance saves, but where there is no sorrow for sin, no hatred of it, there is no work of the Spirit. Do not trust to your repentance, or to your faith even, trust alone to the finished work of Jesus Christ upon Calvary’s bloody tree. Faith and repentance are inseparable; they both look alone to Him who was nailed to the cross for sinners.

If you harden yourself against this, the eagle of judgment shall come with irresistible force, and none shall deliver. Iniquity abounding makes love grow cold, and God may remove the candlestick. Yet even now, He commands repentance in Christ’s name. Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. Depend upon Him without fear.

But if you hear the trumpet and take not warning, your blood shall be upon your own head. The church must sound the alarm, for silence would be bloodguiltiness. Repent, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

 
You do well to tremble at God’s Word and to seek His will with such carefulness. The fear of the Lord is indeed the beginning of wisdom, and your urgency to obey Christ’s command in Matthew 18, to rescue a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins, is a mark of genuine love. Yet I must both strengthen your resolve and sober your expectations, lest zeal outrun discernment.

The wound you have uncovered is deep, and the remedy must be applied with the skill of a physician, not the haste of an executioner. The apostle bids you restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, even while you yourselves watch lest you be tempted. The goal is not to cast out but to win back; not to silence the watchman’s trumpet but to sound it with tears. For as I have often said, it is not the sin alone that destroys, but the despair that follows it. A soul that sees no hope of return plunges headlong into the abyss. Therefore, though you must speak plainly and set the truth before her, take care that your rebuke always carries with it the door of repentance, wide open and lit by the mercy of God. The kindness of the Lord leads to repentance, and you must be ambassadors of that kindness even as you wield the sword of truth.

But let no one mistake mere sorrow for repentance. Esau shed loud tears and yet found no place for repentance, because his grief was not a hatred of the sin but a hatred of its consequences. His heart remained murderous, and the tears did not wash it clean. So too, if this woman weeps without forsaking her path, her tears are not the tears that save. True repentance is a changed life. Watch, then, what fruit her life bears after your admonitions. If she puts away the sinful profiles, severs the unholy ties, and returns to the marriage bond as a pure vessel, then you will have gained her. If not, the church must obey the Lord and remove the leaven, not from cruelty, but to awaken her conscience and to protect the little ones from stumbling. A child’s soul hangs in the balance, and our Lord’s warning about millstones is terrible indeed.

You have rightly recalled the bloodguilt of silence. The watchman who sees the sword coming and does not sound the trumpet will have the blood of his neighbor on his hands. You have spoken privately; you have brought one or two; now the matter stands at the church’s door. Do not draw back from this final step, but let it be done with fasting and prayer, mingled with intense mercy, as you have resolved. God is longsuffering, not willing that any should perish, but His patience has a purpose: to lead to repentance. If that purpose is scorned, the treasure of wrath is being stored up. Let the church, then, speak with one voice, firmly, lovingly, and without wavering, so that she may be ashamed, come to her senses, and flee from the snare of the devil. And if she will not, the purity of Christ’s body and the safety of the flock must be guarded, for the kingdom of God is not for the sexually immoral, as you well know.

Continue in prayer, for the plural “lead us not into temptation” is your comfort; you wrestle not alone. Entreat God to grant her the gift of true repentance, to break the hardness of her heart, and to make this bitter medicine the means of eternal healing. And should she return, receive her as a sister, even as the forgiven Peter found a place among the apostles. The peace that passes understanding will guard your hearts as you walk this difficult but obedient path.
 
Your prayer carries the weight of godly concern, and I can hear both the trembling before God’s Word and the genuine love for a soul caught in sin. That combination is exactly what the Spirit produces when a heart is aligned with His own. The letter to the churches in Revelation makes it clear that Jesus Himself walks among the lampstands and calls His people back to purity, not out of harshness, but out of jealous love, and always with the goal of restoration.

You are right to let the Matthew 18 pattern guide your steps. It is not a tool for punishment but a lifeline for rescue. When sin hardens a heart, the loving rebuke of fellow believers is one of the means God uses to break through. The fact that you have already involved others and are weighing the next step of bringing it before the wider assembly shows a careful desire to obey Christ rather than react in the flesh. Still, remember that every step must be mingled with mercy and self-examination. Paul’s instruction to restore with a spirit of gentleness, watching yourself so that you are not tempted, is a guardrail for everyone involved. The goal is not to win a confrontation but to win a brother or sister back from the path that leads to destruction.

Your prayers for the online profiles to come down, for the protection of the child, and for the eyes of the person to be opened are all prayers that align with a jealous care for the little ones Jesus warned us not to stumble. God sees that concern and He honors it. Continue to ask Him to remove every snare and to shield the child’s conscience from being dulled by what is modeled. As you do, trust the God who “is able to keep you from stumbling” to work in ways you cannot orchestrate.

One of the sobering realities throughout church history is that a loss of purity always leads to a loss of power. The early church walked in such dynamic power because they refused to tolerate what God calls leaven. A little unchecked sin spread through a body can deaden its witness and grieve the very Spirit whose presence we depend on. That is why Paul was so blunt with the believers in Corinth about the man living in immorality: it was not only about the individual, but about the health of the whole. The body cannot be casual about what God has already judged. So your resolve to see this addressed is not unloving; it is participation in Christ’s own care for His bride.

Yet the same Savior who calls for purging also knocks at the door of the lukewarm and says, “Be zealous and repent.” His kindness leads to repentance. That means as you follow through, let your words and your eyes be full of hope. God knows how to turn a hard heart around, and your persistent prayers, mingled with fasting and tears, are part of that work. Do not let the process become mechanical. Keep your own heart soft, your own motives washed in love, and your own dependence on the Spirit hourly. The peace that guards your heart and mind will be real as you release the outcome into His hands.

And take comfort in this: there is only one church, His body, and you are not alone in this. Believers have walked this painful road since the days of the apostles, and the same Head who leads the church into purity also knows how to restore what seems hopelessly broken. Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is faithful, and He will not lose any the Father has given Him. Walk in obedience, rest in His timing, and let the peace of God be the umpire in your heart as you wait.
