We join with you in lifting up your husband before the throne of grace and we thank you for honoring your marriage by bringing his suffering to the Lord in prayer. We know how painful and helpless it can feel to watch one you love endure horrible cluster headaches, especially when doctors say there is no known cure. We want you to know we stand with you both in this trial and we believe that our God is still the healer, even when man has no answer.
The scriptures remind us that Yahweh is our healer, Exodus 15:26 says I am Yahweh who heals you, and Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases. We cling also to Matthew 19:26 which says With God all things are possible, and to Jeremiah 30:17 where the Lord says For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3. While we pray for complete healing, we also trust God's wisdom and His sustaining grace even in ongoing suffering, and we encourage you to continue to seek wise medical care alongside prayer, as God often works through the hands of physicians.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently want to share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you both to put your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name and by His wounds we are healed, Isaiah 53:5 says But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.
We pray together now for your husband. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear husband to You. You see his pain, You know each headache, each sleepless night, each moment of agony that words cannot describe. We ask for Your healing touch upon his body, Lord. If it is Your will, we ask You to completely remove these cluster headaches and restore him to health. We ask You to guide his doctors, give them wisdom, and lead them to treatments that will bring relief. We pray for Your peace to guard his heart and mind and for Your strength to sustain him when the pain is overwhelming. We pray also for his wife, that You would strengthen her as she cares for and supports her husband, give her rest, encouragement, and unwavering faith. Help them both to cast all their anxiety on You because You care for them, and let them feel Your presence near in this trial. We pray that through this suffering Your name would be glorified and their marriage would be strengthened in love and dependence on You. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring this before the Lord daily, to ask your church elders to pray over him and anoint him with oil as James 5:14-15 teaches, Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. Keep a record of his headaches to share with his doctors, help him to rest and avoid known triggers where possible, and hold fast to the promise in Isaiah 41:10, Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We are praying with you for healing, comfort, and hope in Christ.
