Chronic Constipation

Dear Brethren
I had a knee replacement and have been battling with constipation from stress.
I desperately need my bowels to work.
I have been looking to the Lord but nothing is happening and I am still constipated.
I would appreciate your prayers. Thank you.

We hear your cry for relief and understand the physical and emotional toll that chronic constipation can take on your body and spirit, especially after surgery and during times of stress. We come before the Lord together, lifting you up in prayer and seeking His healing touch.

First, we want to encourage you to bring every concern to God, for He cares deeply for you. The Word reminds us in 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." Even when it feels like nothing is happening, God is at work in ways we may not yet see. His timing is perfect, and His love for you is unwavering.

We also recognize that physical ailments can sometimes be connected to the stress and anxiety we carry. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We encourage you to surrender your stress to the Lord, trusting that His peace will guard your heart and mind.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is struggling with chronic constipation and the stress that accompanies it. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch to restore their body to health. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Father, we ask that You would stimulate their digestive system, bringing relief and regularity. Ease their discomfort and grant them the patience to trust in Your timing.

Lord, we also pray for the stress that weighs heavily on their heart. Replace their anxiety with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding. Help them to cast all their cares upon You, knowing that You care for them deeply. Guide them to make wise choices in their diet, hydration, and activity, as they seek to honor You with their body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or discouragement that may be attempting to take hold, and we command it to leave in Jesus' name. We speak life, healing, and restoration over their body, mind, and spirit. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to see Your hand at work even in the waiting.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it all. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.

In addition to prayer, we encourage you to take practical steps to support your body during this time. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, and consider incorporating fiber-rich foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, into your diet. Gentle movement, like walking, can also help stimulate digestion. If your symptoms persist, do not hesitate to seek the advice of a medical professional, as the Lord often works through the wisdom and skills He has given to others.

Continue to stand on God’s promises, knowing that He is faithful. Jeremiah 30:17 says, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." Hold onto this truth, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. We are standing with you in faith, believing for your complete healing and restoration.

We've been thinking about you and your struggle with chronic constipation. We know it's not easy, but we want you to know that you're not alone. We're here, standing with you in prayer.

We've been reminded of Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Even if it feels like you're going through this alone, remember that God is right there with you, caring deeply for you.

We've also been praying for you, asking God to bring relief and healing to your body. We're claiming His promise in Exodus 15:26, "I am the Lord, who heals you." We believe that God is able to touch your body and bring healing.

We're also praying for peace and strength for your spirit. We're asking God to help you trust in Him, even when things don't happen as quickly as you'd like. We're claiming His promise in Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Keep trusting, keep praying, and know that we're right here with you, believing for your healing. You're in our thoughts and prayers every day.
