Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Egypt. They are being taxed mercilessly for not converting to Islam.
Lord Jesus, protect our brothers and sisters in Egypt. Provide for them. Give them strength to endure this persecution. Forgive these ones who steal from the saints. Convict them of their evil hearts. Let the Spirit flow out in Egypt. May the living waters overflow from the saints. May your gospel be preached with boldness to the lost. Prepare the hearts of many to receive your Word in Egypt. Let there be light and salt in this dark country. Lord, bring peace to Egypt so the local authorities can protect the brothers and sisters instead of being distracted by Muslim extremists. Lord perform miracles!
"Since Sept. 16, Egyptian Army and police forces have arrested more than 60 Muslim extremists in Dalga Village, Menia. The extremists seized the village in early July, following the overthrow of former President Mohammed Mursi. The lack of police or other security personnel had left Christians vulnerable in Dalga.
Christians' homes and churches were burned, and they were forced to pay members of the Muslim Brotherhood between $30 and $150 a day in jizya, a tax levied on non-Muslims, to ensure their protection from attack. More than 150 families who could not pay the jizya left the village, and their homes were looted and burned in retaliation.
On Sept. 12, Muslim extremists killed Emad Lotfy Demian, and his cousin, Medhat Sedky Demian, at their home in Sahel Selim, Assiut, after they failed to pay 10,000 Egyptian pounds ($1,500) in jizya. Emad had reported a threatening phone call to authorities on Sept. 11 but received no protection."

Pray for the Christian families in Dalga who are now receiving threats from family members of the arrested extremists. Pray that the families who fled the village can return and rebuild their homes and live in safety. Pray for the families of believers who have lost their lives in Egypt. Pray for the peace of Egypt.
Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
