October.Halloween is coming up,and there are 2 trains of thought by Christians on it.One, avoid it, it's the devils day, because people honor demons, ghosts, etc.Even before it became obviously, demonic, they prayed for the souls of the dead,{although the Bible says,"it is appointed unto men once to die, And AFTER THIS the judgement".prayed to saints who died. But nowadays, the controversy is, although some Christians oppose it, others "dress it over" by saying, well, if their kids dress up as Bible characters, we "infiltrate" the devils day,and basically, turn it from the devils day into a "Christian" day I agree with the first group, we should abstain. The "holiday" had pagan origins, glorifys things we don't believe in,What fellowship has light with darkness?Whether we dress up as Bible characters or not, we're still choosing the devils day to do it, which, actually, is participating in the devils day.I think we'd be making more of a statement by witnessing against it, than borrowing a custom of the devils day, on the devils day, and wearing costumes. Then who knows if we're defeating the devil by doing that, or he's winning by getting us to participate? Also, where would that end? Using a quija board, saying we're summoning up Jesus, when the Bible stated no occult involvement?Or a séance to summon up a Bible character, even though God stated don't do it that way?A slippery slope is created here, I think,
