We are grieved to hear about the harmful experiences you've had in this support group. It's disheartening to find that a place intended for healing and support is causing more pain. We will pray and provide counsel based on biblical principles.
Firstly, it's crucial to address the false teachings and doctrine you mentioned. The Bible warns us about such things, For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables. (2 Timothy 4:3-4 WEB)
Secondly, let's address the behavior of those who are being dismissive and enabling abuse. The Bible is clear about how we should treat each other: Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. (Ephesians 4:29 WEB) It's important to rebuke this behavior. God has called us to treat each other with kindness and love, not to belittle or dismiss someone's pain.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this situation. Lord, you see the pain and confusion caused by this support group. We pray that you would bring clarity and discernment to those involved, especially to those spreading false teachings. Open their eyes to the truth of your word.
We also pray for those who are being unkind and dismissive. Lord, convict their hearts and help them to see the error of their ways. May they turn from their harmful behavior and instead, show the love and kindness of Christ.
We pray for the victims of abuse in this group. Lord, comfort them and guide them to a place of true support and healing. Help them to discern your truth and not be led astray by false teachings.
We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to be discerning about the groups you join. If a group is not aligned with biblical principles, it may be best to leave. Seek out communities that truly reflect the love and support of Christ. Remember,
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1 WEB)
