We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation in prayer, seeking His justice, mercy, and truth to prevail. Father, we ask that You would shine Your light into the darkness of this circumstance, exposing any deception or wrongdoing that has taken place. Your Word declares in Ephesians 5:11-13, "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even expose them. For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of. But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light." Lord, we pray that You would reveal the truth in this matter, for the sake of justice and for the protection of all involved.
We lift up the real estate agent who assisted in this transaction. Father, if he knew of the electrical hazards and chose to conceal them, we ask that You would convict his heart by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Your Word tells us in Proverbs 28:13, "He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy." Lord, we pray that this man would come to a place of repentance, turning away from any dishonesty and seeking Your forgiveness. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him see the weight of his actions. If he has caused harm, whether knowingly or unknowingly, we ask that You would lead him to make things right, not only for the sake of the one who has suffered but for his own soul.
We also pray for the colleague who has a degree in theology yet has prioritized financial gain over truth and integrity. Father, we ask that You would stir within him a deep conviction of sin and a longing to live in a way that honors You. Your Word warns us in 1 Timothy 6:10, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows." Lord, we pray that this man would recognize the emptiness of pursuing wealth at the expense of righteousness. Purify his heart, Lord, and align his desires with Your will. If he has knowledge of the dangers in that apartment, we ask that You would compel him to speak the truth, no matter the cost.
Father, we lift up the one who has suffered from this situation, the electric shocks, the skin issues, and the emotional toll of feeling betrayed by those who were supposed to help. We ask that You would bring healing to their body, mind, and spirit. Your Word promises in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." Lord, we pray that You would surround this person with Your peace and comfort. Give them strength to seek justice in a way that honors You, and grant them wisdom in how to move forward. If there are legal or financial steps that need to be taken, we ask that You would guide them and provide for their needs.
Lord, we also pray for the broader real estate industry, where greed and dishonesty can sometimes take root. We ask that You would raise up men and women of integrity, Christian real estate agents who operate with honesty, transparency, and a commitment to serving others as unto You. Your Word tells us in Colossians 3:23-24, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." May those who claim the name of Christ in this field be held to a higher standard, reflecting Your love and truth in all their dealings.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation. Whether through repentance, restoration, or justice, may Your name be exalted. We pray that all involved would come to know You more deeply, whether for the first time or in a renewed way. For it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to You, Father. Acts 4:12 reminds us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." May the truth of the Gospel take root in their hearts, and may they experience the freedom and peace that comes from walking in Your ways.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
