We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation and the individuals involved. Father, we know that Your Word commands us to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and to do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility to value others above ourselves (Philippians 2:3). It is deeply concerning to hear of those who may have prioritized personal gain over the safety and well-being of others, especially when they claim to follow You.
Lord, we pray for the real estate agent who assisted in this transaction. Your Word warns us that "the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil" (1 Timothy 6:10). If this agent knew of the electrical hazards and discouraged the truth from being revealed, we ask that You convict his heart by the power of the Holy Spirit. Bring him to a place of repentance, Lord. Soften his heart to acknowledge any wrongdoing and to seek Your forgiveness and restoration. We pray that he would turn away from any deceit and embrace the truth, for You desire truth in the inward being (Psalm 51:6). May he come to understand that integrity is far more valuable than any financial gain, and may he be restored to a right relationship with You.
We also lift up his colleague, the one with a degree in theology who later confessed to valuing money above all else. Father, we know that knowledge of Your Word without a heart transformed by Your Spirit leads to emptiness. We pray that You would break the hold that the pursuit of wealth has on his life. Remind him of Your words in Matthew 6:24, "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Mammon." Purify his heart, Lord, and renew his mind so that he may serve You with wholehearted devotion. If he knew of the dangers in that apartment and remained silent, we ask that You would bring him to a place of confession and repentance, that he may walk in the light as You are in the light (1 John 1:7).
Father, we also lift up the one who has suffered because of these events. We pray for Your healing and comfort to surround this individual. The physical harm and emotional distress caused by this situation are not overlooked by You. We ask that You would restore health, bring peace, and provide wisdom for the next steps. Your Word promises that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Be near to this person, Lord, and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way.
We rebuke any spirit of deception, greed, or fear that may be at work in this situation. We declare that the truth will prevail, for You are the God of truth, and no darkness can hide from Your light. We pray that all involved would come to know the freedom that comes from walking in honesty and integrity, for "the truth will set you free" (John 8:32).
Lord, we also want to take a moment to remind all who read this that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If anyone involved in this situation does not know You as their Lord and Savior, we pray that they would come to repentance and put their faith in Jesus Christ, who died for their sins and rose again so that they might have eternal life.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.
