Lord, you know Chris's heart. You know that he has been home for over a month now and things have been getting so much better. But you also know that he is still struggling inside. You know his confusion about his job, his life, and where he wants to be. Lord you know that Chris revealed his discontent to me last night and you know the many details of our conversation, but I thank you ultimately for giving Chris the strength to share his feelings and for me to be able to just sit and listen without getting angry, frustrated, or bitter. I thank you for giving us both the ability to talk about these things. But Lord you know how Chris is still struggling with what I believe to be a mid-life crisis. He feels so lost.
Lord show him the way, YOUR way. He says he doesn't feel as though he has completely released his troubles to you. Show him how to do that and that it can be so freeing for him to LET YOU control his life and destiny. Lord speak to him, YELL AT HIM if you have to to get his attention. He needs you right now. And Lord I thank you for letting him feel like he needs me to an extent but I am fearful of how long that will last.
Lord show him that we are good together and that we can get through this troubled time for him TOGETHER. Help him to realize that I can and will support him in anything and that our vows were true in "for better and for worse".
Lord I thank you for hearing our prayers. I am praying not only for my husband but for all of the other spouses out there today that are struggling. Give us all your peace today and help us to stay focused on you.
In Your Holy Name,
Amen
