Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer is honest and tender and God hears it. Thank you for bringing your children before Him and for your desire to see them walk closely with Him.
There is grace for the past. When things changed and church life was interrupted, you carry regret for not keeping them in that fellowship. Scripture shows us that God is our example in forgiveness and He forgives fully when we come to Him. He does not hold that failure over you. As you have asked Him to forgive you, receive that forgiveness and walk forward in love. Your sorrow can now become a new work of faith in your home as you lead them again toward Him.
That desire to inspire your children to lean on the Lord is at the heart of what God delights in. One of the apostles wrote to a dear friend that he had no greater joy than to hear that his children walk in truth, and he prayed that his friend would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered. That order matters. The greatest health is the health of the soul, walking in truth, knowing Jesus and trusting Him. Physical health and well being matter to God, and it is right to pray for your daughter and your son to be healthy and happy, but the deepest prayer is that their souls would prosper first. As they learn to delight in the Lord and trust Him, He shapes the desires of their hearts to align with what is good for them.
For your daughter, pray not only for weight but for wholeness, for strength, for a healthy view of herself as made in God's image, and for habits that honor Him with her body. For your son as well, pray for joy that is rooted not just in circumstances but in faith. God cares for both of them completely.
Faith and the way we live go together like two oars on a boat. Faith alone saves us through Jesus Christ, but genuine faith always shows itself in how we live. You cannot row with one oar and go straight. Your children will be inspired to lean on God not only by what you say but by seeing that faith produce action in you, a steady walk, a home marked by love, prayer, and the Word. That labor of love and patience of hope becomes a quiet testimony to them every day.
In finding a church home, look for a fellowship where Jesus is central, where the Bible is taught truthfully, where love is evident, and where the people walk in truth. In the earliest days believers often met in homes and showed hospitality to those who traveled to encourage the churches. A healthy church is not about a building but about a family that builds up the body of Christ, comforts one another, and holds fast to the name of Jesus. Ask God to lead you to a place like that, and as you visit, notice whether the people love Christ, love His Word, and love one another.
You also prayed for change, movement, and peace, and thanked God for your blessings with a desire to help others. God often uses our own growth to make us a help to others. True faith does not always mean immediate triumph over every difficulty, but it does sustain us through every need. It is the kind of faith that endures, that trusts God in good days and hard days, and that finds His peace even while waiting for Him to move.
May the Lord give you peace as you trust Him with your children, guide you clearly to a church where you can all be rooted and grow, strengthen your daughter and son in body and soul, and use your life and your home to encourage others who need the same grace you have received.
We pray with you that God would prosper you and your children in the way that matters most, that you would all walk in truth, that He would provide a faithful church family for you, and that His peace would guard your hearts as you follow Him day by day.
