We lift up your daughter before the Lord, knowing that He deeply cares for her heart and future. It is concerning when a child withdraws from responsibilities like school and displays stubbornness, as this can be a sign of deeper struggles—whether spiritual, emotional, or influenced by ungodly company. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 22:6, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Yet we also know that even the best training can be resisted when the heart turns away from wisdom.
First, we urge you to examine whether there are unaddressed issues in her life—rebellion, wrong friendships, or even spiritual oppression. Ephesians 6:1-3 commands children to *"obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with a promise: 'that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.'"* If she is willfully disobeying, this is not just a behavioral issue but a spiritual one, as rebellion is rooted in pride and opposition to God’s order.
We also encourage you to pray fervently for her heart to soften. Ask the Lord to reveal any strongholds—whether fear, laziness, or deception—that may be gripping her. James 4:7 tells us, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* If there is spiritual resistance, fasting and prayer may be necessary to break through.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for this daughter who has turned away from her studies and embraced stubbornness. Lord, we ask that You convict her heart by Your Holy Spirit. Remove any spirit of rebellion, laziness, or deception that may be influencing her. Surround her with godly influences and restore her desire to walk in obedience—not just to her parents, but to You. Give her parents wisdom to discipline with love and firmness, and let Your Word be a lamp to her feet. Break every chain of the enemy that seeks to derail her future, and let her return to the path of righteousness. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment will be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Restore her, Lord, and let her be a vessel for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
To the parent: Stand firm in love but do not enable this behavior. Seek counsel from mature believers if needed, and trust that God is able to turn her heart back. Keep speaking life and truth over her, even when she resists. The Lord fights for those who trust in Him.
