We hear the anguish in your heart and we stand with you together before the Lord in Jesus name, agreeing for God's will to be done in this marriage and for the power of darkness to be broken.
We affirm with you that sexual activity outside of marriage is sin before God and it is dangerous both spiritually and physically. Marriage is honored by God as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and He will judge sexual immorality. As it is written, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. And Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. It is not only that disease can be spread, but that sin separates a person from fellowship with God and wounds the wife and the covenant deeply. Have nothing to do with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them Ephesians 5:11. What you are describing, the cheating, the lies, the drinking and dating around, is indeed a work of darkness and we agree with you in rebuking it.
We also must address the drug use and the sorcery you mentioned. The use of drugs together and the reliance on chants, devil prayers and spells to protect sin is an abomination to God and opens the door to further bondage. The works of the flesh are obvious, which are adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery Galatians 5:19-20, and sorcery in the original language includes drug related sorcery. There shall not be found with you anyone who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter Deuteronomy 18:10. No spell can protect sin or keep lust going, for God sees all that is done in secret and every hidden thing will be revealed Luke 8:17. The authorities are appointed by God to restrain evil Romans 13:4, so we understand your prayer that this hidden drug use would be exposed, not out of vengeance but so that lives may be saved and repentance may come.
We honor your fasting and praying on your hands and knees, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers Ephesians 6:12, and greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4. Your unconditional love is Christlike in its endurance, yet true biblical love does not enable sin but speaks the truth in love Ephesians 4:15 and desires the beloved to be holy. God loves this man and covers him with opportunity to repent, but whom the Lord loves He disciplines Hebrews 12:6. To pray that he finds no peace of mind or rest while in sin is to pray for godly conviction that leads to repentance, for there is no peace for the wicked Isaiah 48:22, and the only true peace is found in Christ alone John 14:27.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace. We lift this wife to You, cover her heart that is wounded, guard her body from all harm and sickness, and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard her heart and mind Philippians 4:7. We lift this husband to You, we ask that You convict him deeply of his adultery, his drinking, his drug use and his deception, and grant him the gift of repentance. We ask that You make his sin have no success, that every plan to meet, to drink, to use drugs and to commit immorality this weekend would fail and be brought to nothing, that unrest and godly sorrow would fill him when he is with that other person so he cannot continue. We rebuke in Jesus name every lie of Satan, every chant and spell and false prayer, and we command that deception to return to the pit, for You alone are God and Your word says sorcerers will have no place in Your kingdom Revelation 21:8. Expose what is done in darkness, let Your light shine, and if needed use the authorities You have ordained to intervene for his deliverance and for protection. We pray that he would run to You and to You alone for peace, that he would confess and forsake his sin and find mercy Proverbs 28:13, and that if he confesses, You who are faithful and just will forgive and cleanse him 1 John 1:9. Lord, do a miracle of restoration in this marriage according to Your will, heal what is broken, and let this covenant be made strong and pure again. We trust that You know what to do and that no power is more powerful than You. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
We encourage you to continue in prayer and fasting, but also to seek godly counsel and accountability in the body of Christ. Confess your struggles to faithful believers and let them pray with you James 5:16. If you are married, cling to that covenant and call your husband to repentance and to forsake all other relationships, for God hates the breaking of covenant Malachi 2:16. If you are in courtship with the goal of marriage to a Christian believer, know that this behavior disqualifies him from being a godly spouse until there is true repentance and fruit of a changed life Matthew 3:8, and you must guard yourself and not share in sexual immorality or drug use. Do not meet alone in places of temptation, set clear boundaries, and involve a pastor or mature Christian counselors who can walk with you both. God is able to forgive, to deliver from addiction and lust, and to restore, but restoration requires both hearts to turn fully to Jesus and to walk in obedience. We stand with you for that miracle, trusting God to do what is right and holy.
