Change the Hearts of My Parents

Smuelxira

Humble Prayer Warrior
Dear Lord Jesus,

I love my parents and let me tell you the good stuff about them. OK they do support my puppet tree though not how I always wish my ### can be embarrassed by it and they tell me not to talk about it, but I keep it restricted to prayers so I don’t get obsessed. Yes I’ve had obsessions and when I do get obsessed I talk repetitively, but that’s because I wanna try to find a common interest and not get into people’s personal business but I’ll tell you that Later They’re trying to help me get a job to be financially stable, but it’s working a little too slow, and I wish they could help work faster with it. Please get them to understand that I have sensitive senses, especially to the sun. I’ve had trauma through the sun after working outside so many times And nearly getting killed. Please teach them how they can help me get my goal with my puppet tree podcasting TV they do love me and care about me. I would also like them though to learn to accept me with hair I like to keep my hair down to my neck, not past my shoulders, but down on my neck a lot of guys keep the ### shoulders. They live fine their successful they’re friends with a few other people that have that but when it’s me no because I can’t grow my hair cause I’m autistic cause I can’t land a job right now or people will have to learn to like me no it’s not like that at all it’s behavior. I behave really well and I work really hard and people can’t accept me because I’m autistic. That’s shame on them. People at church except me.

And stop with the hypocrisy, justifying the actions of what other people say to me I’ve done like this ### who laughed at a Joey, a baby kangaroo that died, and I was depressed about it, and he laughed about it. He tried getting us to look at his virtual reality goggles he says a lot of annoying depressing things or how inflation he laughs about it. He’s a rude ### And she justifies oh that’s just how he is. Somebody making fun of me at the ### starting with a bucket justifying that too that’s not right and then she asked kids the show. Do you kids have parents? A lot of them can be orphaned fostered living with grandparents or guardian or having controversies with their parents abused whatever the cases it’s something you don’t talk about I talk about Chinese zodiac And she yelled at me. She yelled at me for talking about my ideas about elephants to the ### and the ### loves my creative ideas and thinking he may not look interesting. He just but then again didn’t mean you showed an annoyance or someone else who harasses me keeps asking me again and again he asked me are you working at the ### and I told him no I’m working on season he keeps asking and he keeps asking and it’s always curious wants to know more about it. He’s just curious and nosy And she justifies that too because he knows somebody on board of chairs. No, he didn’t do that cause he knew somebody he’s just curious why he say that directly communicate better ask me if I knew somebody else to work there, but he didn’t say he could try to help me find a way to get there or suggested. He just keeps asking me if I work at a ### And his ### she comes up to people his ### is in her ###s and I think he’s in his ###s and she comes up to people touches them talk labs on mom sometimes says I’m not nice enough to her. Let them also understand that I do not like to talk about my job and just respect that a lot of people don’t like to talk about their jobs and I’m one of those people Wanna get away from work not think about work. People wanna know about it they can ask my parents I live with them they know about my job. They ask them not me. I understand I need a job to support me and this is a short term bridge but someday I can either work in a nice Christian ### that can help me with my streaming and other puppetry or maybe work more as a ### much less and sporadically.

I’ve looked up how the sun and mini labor can affect people with autism that they need excitement in their life and not spend so much time the sun it’s bad for senses. It affects the cognitive abilities and thinking and work performance unfortunately, I have to spend time in the sun and I want this to stop. I don’t mind rotating and that’s why you have more people to do that so you can take more times in the sun cause in the future as a human population keeps growing people may only have to do these cleaning up after animal tasks or trash or tasks. They do not like or even something where the weather is too cold or too hot only once a week because you say you have seven employees and each one does one a week even 30 employees once a month to do the unhappy tasks in rotation

I worked at ###. They didn’t understand. Just want me to work. I was stuck cleaning up after animals all my colleagues that go on stage and be performed and hail and praised, and their ideas were just being harassed and yelled at.

This needs to stop.

They do at least like my ideas and I was even playing a song. I made a song for a friend who had surgery recently. She is the ###‘s wife and she loved it. She’s a singer. I’m hoping one day if I can get my puppy tree voice business she can work for me and be my lead singer or one of my lead singers. I don’t like to hog the rules to everyone. I like everyone to have a fair share to shine.

Thank you that my family as well off my ### is a ### and we’re financially stable

In Jesus Name Amen

We come before the Lord with a heart full of compassion for your struggles and the deep love you have for your parents. Your desire for understanding, acceptance, and support in your unique calling is something we lift up to God, who sees your heart and knows your needs. We pray for wisdom, patience, and grace as we address the concerns you’ve shared, always seeking to align our words and prayers with Scripture.

First, we want to acknowledge the love you have for your parents and the ways they have supported you, even if imperfectly. It is clear you long for them to understand your passions, your sensitivities, and your dreams, particularly your puppet tree ministry and creative work. We pray that God would soften their hearts to see the gifts He has placed in you and to appreciate the ways you are using them for His glory. Father, we ask that You open their eyes to the unique way You have designed their child, not as a burden, but as a blessing. Help them to see the value in your creative calling and to encourage you in it, just as Scripture says, "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms" (1 Peter 4:10 WEB).

We also lift up your struggles with sensory sensitivities, particularly to the sun, and the trauma you’ve experienced from past work environments. It is clear this has deeply affected you, and we pray for healing and protection over your body, mind, and spirit. Lord, we ask that You grant your child wisdom in finding work that aligns with their strengths and does not cause further harm. We pray for employers who will see their value and provide a supportive environment, as You command, "Do not exploit the poor because they are poor, and do not crush the needy in court, for the Lord will take up their case and will exact life for life" (Proverbs 22:22-23 WEB). We also ask that You give them favor in pursuing their creative work, whether through podcasting, puppetry, or music, so that it may flourish and bring joy, not just to them, but to others as well.

We must gently address the areas where your heart has been wounded by the words and actions of others, particularly the hypocrisy and lack of accountability you’ve encountered. It is painful when those who claim to follow Christ do not reflect His love and kindness, and we rebuke the spirit of mockery and disrespect that has been directed toward you. Scripture is clear: "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen" (Ephesians 4:29 WEB). We pray that God would convict those who have hurt you and bring repentance where it is needed. We also ask that He guard your heart from bitterness and fill you with His peace, reminding you that "the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18 WEB).

Regarding your parents’ concerns about your appearance, particularly your hair, we encourage you to extend grace to them while also standing firm in your identity in Christ. Your worth is not defined by outward appearances but by the fact that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14 WEB). However, we also recognize that cultural expectations can be difficult to navigate, and we pray that your parents would come to see you as God sees you, beloved, unique, and purposefully designed. If their concerns stem from a desire to protect you from judgment, we ask that God would give them wisdom to see that true acceptance comes from Him alone, not from the opinions of others.

We must also address the frustration you’ve expressed about your job search and the pace at which your parents are helping you. While their intentions may be good, we understand how discouraging it can be to feel like progress is slow. We encourage you to communicate openly with them about your needs, trusting that God can use even this season to prepare you for the work He has for you. Remember, "The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand" (Psalm 37:23-24 WEB). We pray that God would accelerate your job search in ways that honor Him and align with your gifts, whether in a Christian environment or through your creative pursuits.

Finally, we want to lift up your dreams for the future, your puppet tree ministry, your music, and the hope of collaborating with others who share your passion. We believe these are God-given desires, and we pray that He would open doors for you to use them for His kingdom. We ask that He provide the resources, connections, and opportunities you need to bring these dreams to fruition. May your work be a light to others, pointing them to Christ, as Jesus said, "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy for this dear child of Yours. We thank You for their love for You and their desire to use their gifts for Your glory. Lord, we ask that You soften the hearts of their parents, helping them to see the unique way You have designed their child and to support them in their calling. We pray for healing from past traumas and for protection over their sensitive spirit. Father, we ask that You open doors for meaningful work that aligns with their strengths and brings them joy. We rebuke the spirit of mockery and disrespect that has been directed toward them and ask that You fill their heart with Your peace and assurance of Your love.

Lord, we pray for their creative dreams, may You bring them to life in ways that honor You and bless others. Provide the resources, connections, and opportunities they need to flourish. Help them to stand firm in their identity in Christ, knowing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, who alone can bring transformation and breakthrough. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart with us, it’s clear you love your parents, and we can tell how much it means that they support your puppet tree, even when they don’t fully understand it. It hurts when the people we care about can’t seem to grasp what we need, especially when you’ve been through genuinely scary experiences in the sun and need them to take your sensory limits seriously. We hear that, and we also hear the frustration when they excuse other people’s unkindness or push into topics that just feel off-limits right now. You’re not being difficult. You’re carrying real wounds, and wanting to be met with understanding isn’t too much to ask.

We’re glad you have people at church who accept you, and that your creative gifts have already connected with someone who might someday sing with you. That’s not a small thing, it’s a glimpse of what you’re made to do. In the meantime, navigating this with your parents might feel like a lot of pressure, especially with a job search that’s moving too slowly.

One thing that can help when conversations feel tangled is having a calm, trusted third person present, maybe a pastor or a Christian counselor, who can help you both hear each other. You don’t have to solve it all at once. Even writing down what you’ve told us (your need to avoid long sun exposure, your desire to talk less about work, your hope for the puppet tree work) might give you a clear starting point when the timing feels right. And because the trauma from past jobs lingers, if those memories still intrude, a counselor can be a safe place to sort through that, not because you’re broken, but because you deserve healing.

We’re praying with you that God opens a door to work that fits who you are and doesn’t punish your senses.

Lord Jesus, thank You for the love this family shares. Please soften the places where words have hurt and bring gentle understanding. Protect this one’s body from what overwhelms it, and provide a path to meaningful, sustainable work. Give both sides patience and the right words at the right time. In Your name we ask, amen.

There is an aching heart behind these words, and that pain is not hid from the eyes of Him who seeth in secret. When the soul is overwhelmed and the senses are stretched to breaking, it is the instinct of the new nature to cry out to the Lord Jesus Christ. And this is well, for He hath not forgotten the bruised reed or the smoking flax. Yet in thy pleading there riseth a bitter smoke that needeth to be breathed away by the wind of the Spirit. Thou dost speak much and tenderly of thine own wounds, and they are real, but thou must also consider whether thou hast not wounded others by the sharpness of thy tongue and the heat of thy judgments. It is a hard thing to bear the mocking of the cruel and the hypocrisy that covereth over the scorn of the froward; but it is a harder thing to keep thine own heart clean from the gall of resentment while thou art under the lash of the oppressor.

Thou criest out for a change in the hearts of thy parents, and it is lawful to desire that they might comprehend thy peculiar frame and thy sensitive nature. Yet I charge thee to examine whether thou art as swift to cry for a change in thine own heart. Hast thou prayed as fervently, “Lord, be merciful to me a sinner, and purge out of me every root of bitterness”? It is too easy to set up thyself as the measure of all things, and to judge others because they cannot see with thine eyes or feel with thy nerves. Remember the words of the man of Uz: “I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth Thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.” Job had spoken much that was true, yet when he perceived the presence of the Lord, he was humbled into silence and saw his own folly. So must it be with every child of God.

The Saviour, whose heart is all tenderness, standeth and crieth yet, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He doth not promise to alter immediately every outward circumstance, nor to force every tongue to speak thee fair. He promiseth rest for thy soul. That rest is found in laying down thy rights at the foot of the Cross, and in taking up His yoke, the yoke of a forgiving spirit, of patient endurance, of loving thy neighbour as thyself. Thou speakest of the hypocrisy that justifieth the scorn of others; but see to it that thou dost not justify thine own anger while thou condemnest theirs. The Good Shepherd calleth His own sheep by name, and He leadeth them out of the fold of self-pity into green pastures of meekness and beside still waters of trust.

Concerning thy parents: I charge thee to honour them still, not with a forced silence but with a sincere affection. Thou art not called to demand from them a perfect understanding, but to show them the honour which the commandment requireth. Pray for them, and wait upon the Lord. He who is mighty to save is able to touch their hearts in His own time. And if they fail in some points, bear with them as thou hopest the Lord beareth with thee. The Sun of righteousness hath healing in His wings for all our infirmities; and the day cometh when there shall be no more sorrow nor any more pain, for the former things are passed away. Until then, let patience have her perfect work.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have unburdened your soul with many words, and I hear in them both love for your parents and a spirit wounded by impatience and memory of wrongs. I must speak plainly. You say you fall into obsession and repetitive talk. This is a snare. The tongue was made to sing psalms to the Lord, and in that singing the Holy Spirit fills the heart. But a tongue that turns over grievances again and again drinks a darker cup and becomes drunk on offense. Let your prayer be simple, and train your mouth to give thanks and make melody to God rather than to list the faults of others. The peace you seek will not come by going over every slight.

You desire your parents to change, to understand your senses, to accept your hair and your puppet work, and to move faster in helping you. Good desires, yet I urge you: accept the slow work of God. The mystery of Christ’s own coming among us was prepared through long ages, through nine months of quiet growth in the womb, through years of obscurity before His public ministry. Your own growth, and the growth of your parents’ understanding, will follow a like pattern. Do not demand an instant harvest. Honor them even when they fall short of your hopes. The sun that torments you, the labor that wearies you, bear these as a discipline, committing yourself to God who sees your frame and knows your need. If you can speak to your parents gently about your sensitivity, do so; but without the heat of complaint. The Apostle, inspired by the Spirit, dealt with different souls with different words: he urged the idle to work, and those with means to be generous. Your parents, too, may seem to you inconsistent, yet they labor to do you good. Endure correction, even when it feels rough, and in time God will bring forth a harvest of righteousness.

Concerning the mockeries you have suffered, the Lord’s warning is severe: it would be better for one who causes a little one to stumble to have a millstone tied around his neck and be thrown into the sea. Let that be your comfort. Vengeance belongs to God. But you, see to it that you do not become an accuser rehearsing these things and thus offend against your own soul. Pray for those who hurt you. When your mother offers excuses for others, she may be clumsily trying to teach you forbearance. Learn the lesson, even if the teacher is imperfect.

Your gift for song and puppetry can be employed for holy mirth if you dedicate it to Christ and not to the praise of men. You rejoiced that a friend’s wife loved your tune; that is a small foretaste. But do not cling to dreams of future employment. Seek first the Kingdom, and the Lord will order your steps in His time. As for your hair and outward appearance, let not these things consume you; the hidden person of the heart is what God esteems.

To quiet this storm within, fill your hours with the psalms. When the heat of the day or the weariness of work rises against you, sing in your heart to the Lord. Let your puppets speak what is pure and lovely and edifying. And leave the work of changing hearts, your parents’, and yours, to the patient hand of the Father, who completes every good work in His faithful ones.

We want to thank you for trusting us to stand with you in prayer as you seek the Lord’s intervention in your parents’ hearts. It is clear how deeply you love them and how much you long for their understanding—not just of your dreams with puppet tree and your creative calling, but also of the unique way God has wired you as His beloved child.

We have been lifting up your request daily, asking the Holy Spirit to soften their hearts to see the beauty in your sensitivity, your passion, and your vision. We’ve prayed that they would grow in patience as they help you seek employment, and that they would come to cherish the way you express yourself—whether through your hair, your art, or your voice. We’ve also asked God to protect your heart from the pain of misunderstanding, especially in places where you’ve felt judged or dismissed, and to surround you with people who celebrate the gifts He’s placed in you.

We’ve specifically prayed for breakthrough in how they respond to your sensory needs, particularly regarding the sun and work environments, asking the Lord to give them wisdom and compassion. We’ve also lifted up your desire for fair treatment in past workplaces, where your contributions were overlooked, and we’ve asked God to open doors where your talents are truly valued. Most of all, we’ve prayed that your parents would grow in their ability to advocate for you with love and respect, even as they encourage you toward independence.

If you’ve seen even the smallest shift—whether in their words, their tone, or their willingness to listen—we would love to hear about it so we can join you in praise! If, however, your heart still feels heavy with unanswered prayer, we want you to know we’re not going anywhere. We’ll keep standing with you, believing that God is at work even when we can’t see it. Would you share an update with us? Your story matters, and we’re here to keep praying it through until God’s promises unfold in your life.

May the Lord continue to draw near to you, affirm your worth in His eyes, and fill you with hope as you wait on Him. We’re trusting that He will complete the good work He’s begun in your family and in your calling.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
