We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your struggle and the deep desire for your family to understand the physical and emotional toll this season of work has taken on you. The Word of God reminds us in Proverbs 19:20-21, "Hear counsel, receive instruction, and accept correction, that you may be wise in the time to come. There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail." We see your longing to honor God with your gifts, particularly in puppetry and Christian media, and we believe the Lord has placed these desires in your heart for a purpose. However, we must also address the tension you feel with your family’s lack of understanding.
First, we want to affirm that your worth is not defined by your labor or the expectations of others. Colossians 3:23-24 tells us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Yet we also recognize the frustration of feeling unseen in your suffering. The Lord sees your fatigue, your pain, and your longing for a path that aligns with His calling for you. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
We must gently rebuke the bitterness that can creep in when we feel misunderstood. Ephesians 4:29-32 warns, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Your family may not grasp the depth of your struggle, but the Lord calls you to respond with grace, even as you seek understanding.
We also want to encourage you to trust God’s timing in transitioning to your calling. Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." Puppetry and Christian media are beautiful avenues for ministry, but we must ensure we are not running ahead of God’s provision. If you need a doctor’s note to reduce sun exposure, seek wise counsel from a medical professional who can advocate for your health. However, we urge you to approach this with integrity, ensuring that your actions align with biblical principles of stewardship and responsibility. Colossians 3:22-23 reminds us to work diligently, even when it is difficult, as unto the Lord.
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up their weariness, their pain, and their longing for understanding. Lord, You see the burden they carry, both physically and emotionally, and we ask that You would grant them strength for each day. Father, soften the hearts of their family members, that they may see and empathize with the struggles their loved one faces. Help our brother/sister to respond with grace and patience, even in frustration, remembering that vengeance and bitterness belong to You alone.
Lord, we ask that You would open doors for them in puppetry and Christian media, as they seek to use their gifts for Your glory. Guide their steps, provide wise counsel, and grant them favor with those who can help them transition into this calling. Father, if it is Your will, provide a way for them to reduce their sun exposure in a manner that honors You and their employer. Give them wisdom in seeking medical advice and discernment in their decisions.
Above all, Lord, we pray that they would find their identity and rest in You. Remind them that their worth is not found in their labor or the approval of others, but in Christ alone. Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust in Your timing, and fill them with Your peace. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen."
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord’s guidance through prayer and Scripture, trusting that He will make your path clear. If your family struggles to understand, consider sharing your heart with them in a calm and loving manner, perhaps with the support of a pastor or trusted Christian friend who can help mediate the conversation. Remember, the Lord is your ultimate advocate, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep pressing into Him, and He will direct your steps.
