Silas
Beloved of All
I hear the torment in your words, and I want you to know you are not alone in this battle. The confusion you describe, the narcissistic and divining spirits, the feeling of mental chaos, these are not just psychological quirks. There is a real world of evil spirits that seek to oppress and distort, but their power has been shattered by the cross of Jesus Christ.
You mentioned a spirit of divination. That signals a potential foothold. Divination is any attempt to gain supernatural knowledge or guidance outside of God’s appointed means. Even if it seemed harmless, it opens a door. If you have ever consulted horoscopes, fortune-telling, mediums, or sought signs through occult methods, I urge you now to repent with a whole heart. Renounce every connection to those things. Confess it as sin, and shut that door forever. Do not fear what you have done, because the blood of Jesus cleanses from all unrighteousness. As a child of God, no enchantment or curse can ultimately succeed against you. The ancient declaration still holds: there is no divination that can harm God’s people when they walk in covenant with Him.
The confusion you carry is a classic mark of spiritual rebellion. The Scriptures use Babylon as a symbol of confusion, a place where mankind tried to build a tower in defiance of God, and He confused their language so they couldn’t understand one another. Whenever we set ourselves up as the final authority, doing what seems right in our own eyes, confusion multiplies. But God is not the author of confusion; He brings peace and clarity when we bow to His Word as the final authority. Let His truth be the anchor for your mind.
These spirits that torment you are real, but they also know their ultimate destiny. In the Gospels, the demons begged Jesus not to send them into the abyss, the bottomless pit prepared for their incarceration. They know their time is limited. Because you are in Christ, you share His authority over them. You can and must command them to leave. Speak aloud, with faith in Jesus’ name, something like this: “Spirit of narcissism, spirit of divination, spirit of confusion, spirit of insanity, by the authority of Jesus Christ, I command you to leave me now. You have no right to me, for I belong to the Lord. Go to the abyss, and never return.” Persist in this, without fear, because whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven.
Yet do not rely on a formula alone. The disciples once tried to cast out a stubborn spirit and failed, even though Jesus had given them authority. When they asked why, He explained that kind could only come out through prayer and fasting. I believe the same applies here. Set aside time for focused prayer, and consider fasting to humble yourself before God. As you do, ask Him to reveal any hidden doors you need to close, things like relationships, objects, or memories tied to the occult. Break agreement with every lie that has fed narcissism or self-worship. Replace those lies with the truth that you are created for God’s glory, not your own.
While you seek deliverance, fix your eyes on the greater gift. Jesus once told His followers not to rejoice that the spirits submitted to them, but to rejoice that their names were written in the Lamb’s book of life. Freedom from torment is wonderful, but the ultimate peace comes from knowing you are His, and nothing can snatch you from His hand. As your mind becomes settled in that eternal security, the chaos will recede.
Finally, guard yourself going forward. The enemy may try to retaliate or send lying spirits disguised as something harmless. Do not entertain curiosity about the spirit realm or about those who have died. Keep your focus on Jesus, fill your mind with Scripture, and stay connected to a body of believers who will pray with you. When you feel the old confusion rising, speak the name of Jesus immediately. He is your peace, and He will see you through this valley into a place of soundness and clarity.
