Car

We join with you and your family in seeking the Lord's wisdom for this practical decision about your old car, whether to sell it, donate it, or invest in fixing it. We know that God cares about even the small details of our lives and He delights to give wisdom when we ask Him.

Scripture reminds us, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 We also take comfort in the promise, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 This is a matter of good stewardship of what God has entrusted to your family, and we encourage you to count the cost carefully as Jesus taught in Luke 14:28, to seek godly counsel together, and to consider what will best serve your family's needs and be a blessing to others if the Lord leads you to donate it. A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9

We pray together now.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this family to You. We ask that You grant them clear wisdom, unity, and peace as they consider this car. Help them to weigh the costs and benefits with honest and prudent hearts, to not be driven by haste or pressure, but to hear Your still small voice. Show them whether repairing the car would be a wise use of resources, whether selling it would provide for other needs, or whether donating it could be a generous provision for someone else and bring glory to You. Give them one mind as a family and guard them from confusion. We trust that You will direct their steps as they acknowledge You in this decision. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him together in prayer and to talk openly as a family about your finances, your needs, and your desire to honor God with your possessions. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23

We also want to gently point out that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want you to know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and that we are saved, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 And scripture says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 It is through Him that our prayers are heard and our lives find true wisdom and hope.

We will continue to pray that God gives your family clarity and peace and that He provides for all your needs according to His riches.

We're glad you reached out about this. Even a practical decision like what to do with an old car can feel weighty when the whole family is involved and you want to steward well what God has provided.

One thing that often brings peace is turning a big question into smaller steps together. You might set aside a short time as a family to name your main goal for this season, whether that's saving money, needing dependable transportation, or wanting to bless someone else. Then gather a few simple facts so you can compare your options fairly, like a repair estimate from someone you trust, a realistic sense of its sale value, and what donating would require locally. Laying those alternatives side by side can make it easier to sense which choice fits your goals and resources best. Agreeing on when you'll make the decision together can also lift the pressure of going back and forth.

We are praying for clear thinking and unity for you all as you sort this through.

Father, we ask You to give this family Your wisdom and peace as they consider this car. Help them see clearly what is most helpful and steward their resources well. Give them unity in the conversation and confidence in the next step You have for them. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have brought your request before the Lord and join you in seeking His wisdom concerning this car.

It is a wise and right thing to ask for guidance in such matters, for wisdom is the compass by which we are to steer across the trackless waste of life, and without it we run here and there wasting strength which might be profitably employed. The Scripture tells us that if any man lack wisdom let him ask of God who gives to all men liberally, and you do well to ask.

Remember also that faithful stewardship is this, that nothing is our own, it is all our Master's. Whether to sell or to give or to repair, the question is not merely what is most convenient, but what will best honor the Lord who has entrusted this provision to your family and what will be for the good of all your brothers and sisters in Christ. Haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life, so we pray that you may not be hurried, but may with sober and softened hearts wait upon the Lord for knowledge and discretion.

We pray for you now.

O Lord our God, who art the giver of all wisdom and whose wisdom dressed in robes of love and tenderness invites us to run into Thine arms, look upon this family. Thou knowest their need and the stewardship Thou hast placed in their hands. Grant unto them clear guidance, that they may avoid everything that is evil and choose that which is good and profitable. Give them a calm judgment, freedom from haste, and a submissive bowing to Thy will, that by that very submission they may be furnished with unerring guidance. Direct them whether to sell, to donate, or to repair, so that what they do may be to Thy honor, to the good of their household, and to the help of others. Let holiness and perfect wisdom mark their decision, and let them know Thy peace in the choice they make. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is the power of God and the wisdom of God. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing this need with us. We have prayed for you and your family and we continue to bring this decision before the Lord.

We asked God to give you His wisdom as you consider this car, whether to repair it, sell it, or give it away. True wisdom does not come only from practical calculation, but from God Himself, who makes us wise in what is truly best and shows us how to use what He has entrusted to us well. We prayed that He would give you clarity, peace, and unity as a family, and that you would be able to discern the most faithful and helpful use of the resources He has placed in your care.

We also prayed that you would be good stewards of what the Lord has provided, using it not wastefully but in a way that serves your family and honors Him and helps others where possible. May He guide you to the choice that is most fitting, provide for every need connected to it, and guard you from unnecessary burden or expense.

Heavenly Father, we bring this family before You and ask for wisdom from above for this decision about their car. Lead them to the right path, grant them discernment and agreement, and help them to handle what You have given them with faithfulness and care. Provide for their transportation needs and give them peace as they trust You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord together, to weigh the costs and benefits carefully, and to seek wise counsel as you decide. Please let us know how the Lord leads and how we can continue to pray.

Thank you for sharing this need about your family car. It is a practical decision, and God cares about these everyday matters and wants to give you wisdom in them.

Scripture says wisdom is the principal thing, so above all get wisdom and with all your getting get understanding. Wisdom is better than rubies, and nothing you might desire can compare to it. That means wisdom is more valuable than money or what seems like the best financial deal, because wisdom knows how to use what God has provided in a way that honors Him and truly helps your family.

The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. Knowledge gives you facts, the cost to repair, the value if you sell, what a donation might mean, but wisdom is the right application of knowledge. Wisdom dwells with prudence and finds knowledge that helps you make careful, thoughtful choices. When you seek the Lord first and ask what will build up your family and please Him, you are starting in the right place.

The Bible pictures wisdom as a person calling out in the streets and preparing a banquet, inviting everyone to come and receive. That picture points to Jesus Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. True wisdom comes from above and leads to purity and peace, while the wisdom of this world is earthly and often leads to strife and confusion. God made the wisdom of this world look foolish, because the world by its own wisdom did not know Him, but He gives true wisdom generously to those who ask Him.

Remember how Solomon when he could have asked for riches or fame asked instead for wisdom to lead well, and God was pleased and provided for his other needs as well. You can pray in the same way, not just for the answer about the car, but for a wise heart to steward what God has entrusted to you.

I am praying that God will give you and your family clear prudence and unity as you weigh these options, that He will preserve you and keep you as you love and seek His wisdom, and that He will make your path clear whether keeping and repairing, selling, or donating is the most faithful use of what He has given you. May He grant you understanding and peace as you walk with Him in this decision, in Jesus name.
